If we could do £40 million plus Smith-Rowe I'd be all over that tbf.

Well, I reckon Smith-Rowe is likely to get an England cap before Maddison gets his next one.

That’s a great way to get more customers to come to his KFC.

Can't see Arsenal stumping up £70million on Madders and that is what it would take to get him.

My only thought would be his hip injury could be deemed an ongoing management thing that has us concerned and so maybe comes into our thinking.

Still think he will stay. Only needs a decent 6-12 months with us, and that value could go up as more clubs get interested.

I also think for Maddison himself, a move to Arsenal would stagnate his progress. They are not a club on the up! I fully expect Leicester to continue to finish above them and compete for cups over them, for the coming seasons.

Smith-Rowe is class. Doubt Arsenal would entertain letting him go, especially not in a part exchange.

Madders is probably the only “star” player we can survive losing this summer - any of Cags/Little Wes/Wilf/Youri and we’d have a serious problem. If he wants to go and (more importantly) we can get the money we want (ala Arsenal not trying to offer up endless players for a cheaper swap deal) then he should go - similar to when Maguire went we have a hungry Praet ready to step up and play who wants some more minutes.

He would be a loss for ability, and by all accounts he’s put some work in this summer which we won’t see here - but we could potentially work around it if the deals right. I’d fancy Ward Prowse from Saints as someone to put some money down on as a semi replacement - he’s got the free kick ability and while not being the same positionally he covers off a lot of Madders bonus values as a player. Saints don’t seem to overcharge either - could be ours for half of Maddison.

Let’s not take the piss out of those less fortunate than us, anyone working in KFC when them friers on weather like this is bound to be delusional.

I can't wait to be told how I'm fickle by other teams fans for the 3rd season running because I tell people that I'm perfectly comfortable with us selling a replaceable player for huge money.

My concern with Madders is his inconsistency and potential recurrent injury issues. I don't mind letting go for a good price, I think KDH should be able to slot in (and improve our set pieces)

Why would we want to swap a 24 year old who has great stats for us in the PL for a 29 year old who has been injury hit and can't tie down a proper starter spots at clubs he's been, and will have crazy wages?

Is it bad I’m most shocked by it being 18 plus and not 18 minus?

Hang on a minute. When did IndyK become a valid source of anything except fried chicken?  This is bigger news than Maddison not going to Arsenal.

It’s okay saying we could lose Madders. But he would need to be replaced. Just take a quick look at his stats. For the amount of games played he’s had a bigger impact than some of you think.

We can’t afford to lose him at all unless we’ve already got a replacement lined up, if he goes I think it’s certain the club have managed to reach an agreement with Coutinho. It’s the only way I can see this happening.

We could bring in 2 quality players for the money we'd get for selling him.

I just read that they're bidding £30 million for Ramsdale lol that must make Maddison worth 70-80 million easily.

He said this a few days ago lol

By any chance does that date coincide with when his first thread went hot with rumour?
