Honestly can't get my head around why any of our supporters are trying to move our most creative players on.

Can't wait to see Madders fully fit in the same team as Barnes and Tielemans again.

...if they went, they would be replaced by players of the same type!!!

Feels a bit childish to say it (esp as I'm double his age) but he's my favourite player. I love him to bits.

And you are right..my daughter follows him on insta..he has that fun, funky, alt social media vibe that youngsters 'dig' (there's a word!)

I would be horrified if he was sold.

Also think of the BoohooMan money 😍

I am going to put this in large letters, one last time

Nobody wants him to go (Well maybe one or two) but the model of the club, sell to buy, plus the tactical direction may mean he is less required, and a good winger may be more useful

Its a discussion, not a lynching lol

One more thing, there is no right sided winger on the line above, you ok with that?

Madders' first instincts on receiving the ball are to turn on it, get forward momentum and immediately look for a key pass, all of which he's excellent at. Grealish's instinct is nearly always to put his foot on the ball, slow the attack to a standstill, wait to draw in a couple of defenders then showboat to win a foul.

Exactly why Grealish is likely to be the next in a long line of talented players to have a difficult first season adjusting to Pep's demands at MCFC.

"Touch and release" is a long, long way from his natural game.

I must have missed it, what similar number 10 type of player have we been linked with?

No lynching, but buying a right winger shouldn't necessarily mean we need to sacrifice Madders?

It may not, but where is the money coming from? We don't have the commercial revenue of the traditional big clubs....

.....or Man City  lol

I am sure he will stay, especially in this financial situation, but its no hurt nor disrespect to him discussing the options should he decide he fancies a change

I made this point repeatedly in the Euros. I thought there was an absolutely fantastic contrast between Grealish and Foden when they both came off the bench. Every time Grealish got the ball he slowed down play and eventually wasted it.

Every time Foden got the ball his first touch was a pass that picked up the pace of the attack.

This was a consistent pattern with both players. All the time. You could see which one had been coached by Guardiola from a young age and which one was used to being the big fish in the tiny, tiny pond.

I do maintain I think Grealish has a lot of the right ingredients to be a star and him playing for Pep is no doubt the best thing imaginable for England, if he goes there with a genuine willingness to learn, humility and a real work ethic then Pep will quite possibly do wonders for his career.

But it won't surprise me at all if he barely gets a kick over the next six months.

True, unless they want him to be the false 9 and have the freedom to do what he likes.

"The freedom to do what he likes" is not a concept that Pep really allows.

His systems are immensely structured.

Besides, it seems extremely likely they want to sign a genuine 9 to plug what's a really stand out gap. He's rarely consistently deployed a false 9 instead of a genuine goal scorer in his career. Not out of preference anyway.

Quite frankly, if they sign Grealish for 100 who they absolutely do not need in any way, shape or form and don't sign a 9 this window then Pep will have every right to be livid.

It would be the single biggest failing of their recruitment in years.

Say what you will about the amount of money they spend, they're still well managed. Their recruitment since Txiki arrived has been exemplary.

We need to move some out. Ghezzel, Ward, Perez  and Hamza leaving would not weaken what we have and would generate some cash and a reduced wage bill. If only it was that simple.

...we haven't, although Pereira can play that position!!!

We are not going to just sell and not replace as you seem to think Maddison leaving means we do not seek to replace creativity up front.

...you have got to take a look that Grealish being the main man at Villa dictated the way he played!!!

Everything went through him and in a sense he is Villa.

Hard to compare him with Foden, Grealish has taken on a lot of responsibilities at Villa and it has improved his maturity on the pitch.

I am not a Grealish fan, but he deserves a bit more praise.

Your sort of forgetting Grealish shinbone issue which saw him miss 12 PL games, Maddison miss 7.......

His shinbone issue is recurring, he missed 15 game before with the same issue a few seasons ago.

What's struck me about Grealish is his flamboyant policy of playing without protection to his shins.

Now you've highlighted the very likely outcome of not fully protecting your legs - in a sport where hurting them is considered a fair ploy.

Stupid boy and stupid manager for allowing him to continue to do so.

He will top the Man City replica shirt charts by miles, he is box office is Jack and that is a big part of why Man.City want him. He won't be a game changer on the pitch though. He is still behind KDB and Gundogan.

...I  hated playing with shin pads, felt uncomfortable and affected your touch!!!

I suspect it has always been a problem for him and that is why he has chosen not to.

My friend also did not play with them as his calf muscle was so big.  He also wore his socks down as they also could not get them over his calf.  He had a thunderous shot though.

? I really dont get why you would ship him out.

Because we have ample cover and need cash to invest in a winger.

You absolutely can to be honest. I thought before Maddison's injury last year he was comfortably ahead of Grealish. Infinitely better playmaker to be quite honest and probably a better goal threat.

Grealish's value and stature at the moment is about 30% genuine talent, 70% bizarre tabloid hype. I don't know if his agent is paying some world class PR firm but how he went from being Tabloid Smear Target #1 to the darling of English football is beyond me.

If you want to build a team to play creative, attacking football instead of just relying on set pieces then I can't for the life of me understand why you'd pick Grealish over Maddison (or if you're England, Foden.)

Maddison over Grealish?? 🤣🤣🤣, come on  I cannot believe, anyone, who if had the chance wouldn’t want Grealish in our side over    Maddison,

I never heard anyone else mention that but I hated shin pads, they do affect you play and don't save you when you get a tackle from behind. I had my leg broken.

They don't save you from a broken arm either. (Clue might be in the name though 🤔🤫😂😘)
