You'd be happy to have £30m to replace James Maddison ?

Think Willock and Nelson have a value of more than £0 to be fair

Absolutely. However, neither replaces Maddison. Are we saying he is surplus to requirements here and settling for Soumare to be that replacement which effectively puts us in the same predicament with injury as we are now (i.e. squad depth). Or are we immediately transferring Nelson and Willock to raise funds in addition to the £30m because neither replaces Maddison.

£30m with the apparently highly valued Nelson and Willock is short for a player that Arsenal may want to build a team around. It puts us in a weak position in finding any sort of replacement given we’ve already spent well this summer.

Relax, 30m will get you Daichi Kamada (plus a nice bit of merchandising) to fill Madders boots and jobs a good un.

It’s ok they’re after someone called Maddiosn. Phew!

Arsenal's grand transfer strategy - "Lets get the players we don't want out of the squad, and get the players we do want in"

So in reality you don't know it will be a massive attraction, you are guessing.

Hes from Norfolk...Boston-stump is a massive attraction for over the border Norfolk-folk,Why Cambridge is a London suburb..

....I am to infer you place no real monetary value to Willock or Nelson!!!

What ?

When a player is exchanged in a transfer, the other club doesn’t give you the player AND pay you his market value. Why would you think that ?

I’m taking about replacing one of our key starters over the last 3 years. We will need to replace him. What has the market value of two players suggested in exchange got to do with the £30million payment.

Looked to me to be moving more freely and certainly looked faster

For sure. Will be good to see him going into this season fully fit, especially if Barnes isn’t going to be.

Sky are weird. Is it a slow news day for transfers ? They're essentially discussing something that Twitter has discussed for weeks as if its new news and adding nothing new to the process.

Yeah - it’s not even news because there is nothing in it. I imagine SKY are all over that and will ultimately tell us absolutely nothing of interest or anything remotely true.

Said if before - every player has their price. If Arsenal come in, properly, then our job is to make them earn the transfer.

We lost Kante and achieved champs league quarter finals, we lost Mahrez and got an FA Cup. But we have learned from them.

You really want one of our players? Meet our valuation.

If we get a fit Maddison this season I’ll be very happy.

A nice haircut, some well fitting clothes, maybe a new moisturiser. He’d look lovely.

Bad news guy. Maddison is a long term target of Maddison…

So ambitious from them. Doubt he's ready to retire in the states yet though!!

...not sure I am following your logic!!!

In this scenario, bringing in two additional players to boost our squad plus a £30m payment to spend on someone like Pereira who is comfortable in the #10 role helps the team.

When we sold Mahrez, we spent that money in other areas which aided the team.
