Only fit for 2/3s of the season might be a reason we consider it. That and he might want to go.

Maybe but he's not had too many fitness issues prior to 2020/21. I don't see him as a long term crock but obviously I don't know how chronic his hip injury is. You could be right about him wanting to leave. I love Madders but he does strike me as the kind of guy who might want that London lifestyle. Obviously he's big mates with Chilwell and a load of the London-based England players. He can do better than Arsenal though. Selling himself well short if he goes there.

Like him or loathe him there's not a chance in hell we'll sell Maddison Arsenal for 35m + player(s).

I would think it'd take a concrete bid north of 70m just to get us to the table.

Agree with all of the above. I would imagine deep down the club could be worried that injury means he might not be a sellable asset next season which is why I can see this one happening.

I also suspect we play with 2 up front and therefore he hasn’t actually got a position to play in our formation this season. Obviously from a pure footballing point of view, on his day, we will miss having a player like this but it could be a sensible move to sell is my instinct.

Crazy that pople think we value him last then before, in terms of just numbers in less games he's just had he best PL season.

Sky are being their usual cuntish selves. There's this and a Youri Tielemans video in their transfer section. They really need to **** off with the shit-stirring.

Where’s the highlight reel of him shooting the ball over the bar like a Rugby fly-half

All good points. Totally agree with what you've said here. Obviously there's the occasional disciplinary issues to consider too. I just think he's a one-off, there's very few players who are as effective on the half-turn as Madders however you're spot on about 2 up front (if that's what we go with), that would mean no place for Madders.

Also, I get the impression Arsenal are desperate to make a statement signing.

Think this one is getting enough traction to suggest it could happen.

Like Maguire and Chilwell, he is this summer's first team player we would miss the least, IMO.

Take £60m and buy two £30m players at no.10 and RW - I think we would be better off

A lot of sad desperate for likes/clicks weirdos re posting rumours as though they actually have something credible is not traction

we would be crazy to sell, he is one our most creative players and selling him to a rival is even worse, we can't just let clubs keep taking our top players every season.

I really want Maddison to stay, but I’d be angry and disappointed in him if he requested to go to Arsenal.

Man Utd and Liverpool I understand for their sheer size and history. Chelsea and Man City I’d get, begrudgingly, because they have the money to ring fence the best players.

Arsenal are a big, London, club and more prestigious than us, but footballers’ careers are short. They need a few years in transition just to compete and a year or two just to get to our level.

Tbh I'm genuinely not worried because I think Arsenal have become sufficient enough a joke that they aren't really a threat.

They don't have the finances nor the short term prospects to out maneuver us in the transfer market. Even Villa are trying to bully them.

They have an absolutely gargantuan social media profile and a pretty massive merchandising income but that's basically all they have going for them at the moment. They're a joke.

They're always going to be linked to exciting players in the tabloids because of the size of the fan base and how fanatical and easily excited they are. But they're not going to lump up the numbers necessary to sign Madders and he's actually a pretty smart kid in a footballing sense. He might make some questionable personal life choices but I think he knows the Premier League well enough to know he's much better off here right now.

Only way I see him going is if Rodgers wants us to cash in.

This is Arsenal, that couldn’t get Kante, Mahrez or Vardy from us.

They’re a good size, with a large fan base.

When was the last time they poached a player from a Premier League rival though?

Chambers and Welbeck in 14/15?

Oxlaide-Chamberlain and Arteta in 11/12?

They’re also the most memeable and joke club going. I know they like to throw stones at Spurs but they’re stood in a glass house themselves.

Let's be fair, Arsenal have had some fairly recent success although they have been on a downward spiral since coming runners up in the 15/16 season (I forget who won that year!)

Admittedly they have been midtable finishers the last few seasons, but I'm sure moving there is an attractive proposition for a player who's team are only in Europe again, threatening a top 4 finish the last 2 seasons, and on the rise.

Like many have said though, no one credible has linked Maddison with wanting a move, in fact the day after he was first linked he posted pictures of himself training in a Leicester kit.

Looks like it could happen. He has agreed terms with them so now just down to a deal being done between the clubs. Unless they offer £60m or a deal involving Saka I don’t see how we accept. Don’t want a mardy Maddison staying if he doesn’t get his move though as he would be shit then.

I’d be having a word with madders to be honest. Arsenal are a ****ing joke, and he won’t progress anything other than his wallet.

What madders needs to do, is stop being a show pony and pull his finger out. He’s a talented lad, he just needs to be more consistent.
