Yeah I assume we were already looking and now we lost push the button and put some bids in for our targets. It’s still sickening when you think just how good Fofana is and how

great he has been so far this pre season. It’s all quite sad as it looked like we actually had a fit squad.

I think Zouma would be a superb signing personally. Cahill would tide us over nicely. Perhaps we could go back in for Tarkowski now as well.

 

Having said that, Nelson looks good, hopefully this is the start of Benkovic's rehabilitation, Amartey can step in and in an emergency we have Ndidi in there with Soumare as cover.

 

I'd like us to make one CB signing at least now but I guess it depends on the how the finances work out for this Covid-affected period. Maybe we just get the RW and muddle through knowing that Castagne and JJ are to come back too.

Surely the club should have had other options to turn to?

Not confident that Soumare can do Ndidi's job anywhere as well. But it's probably what will happen. That or Castagne. Not sure either Ndidi or Castagne are any good in a 2. But anyway regardless of who we put or sign next to Soyuncu, they will be a significant downgrade from Fofana (partly due to lack of time for any partnership to develop). Oh well.

Villarreal started to look desperate I’m not saying the guy did the damage on purpose, but when you rolling around like you’ve been ran over by a steam roller your hardly going to win any support ! Bad tackle in a FRIENDLY that guy should be truly ashamed of his self, not professional not nice, certainly not a honest player.

Sounds like his injury is going to be reoccurring over the course of the season. I think it’s imperative we sign a CB in the next two weeks now, purely for bodies who can play centre half in a packed schedule - I’d even dip in for a loan for somebody second rate if needs be.

Kabak is probably more likely, but with such a horrific injury experience wouldn't go awry. Benkovic, Amartey and Nelson might all well start a few games this season now, and we could do with more experience other than Evans alongside them.
