Vestergaard please.

It's a good idea but having lost Ings today and potentially JWP too, I don't see them selling off the last of their spine, even for decent money.

Nelson should absolutely not be near first team football yet, Shouldn't even be an option. His time will come, i am sure there's a premier league player in there, just not yet.

He needs to go out on loan and we need an experienced and proven defender to come in - Shame it's easier said than done.

We might survive this without a signing , but we’re an injury to Soyuncu away from a nightmare

can we get big Wes back ?

The formation was hard enough to concoct before. Now we have to replace little Wes...

Amartay is surely a better replacement than Ndidi. Amartay can't play from the back but to be honest we won't expect that from Ndidi if he plays there. And at least we'll be playing Amartay in position, rather than Ndidi out of position. But Benk, if fit, is the ideal replacement. He'll need to step up. It's either that or spend, spend, spend.

N'didi should play CB. I was critical of this last season but as it looks now this is the best team. Hopefully Soumaré can step up. Its a big ask so lets remember that if it all goes tits up.

Ndidi out of position is ok for an emergency match or two, but it is now way a solution to the problem we now have. Playing Ndidi back there significantly weakens our midfield, and as Liverpool found last season doing the same thing, it is not a recipe for any kind of sustained success.

If we are serious about breaking our top 4 hoodoo, the club need to go out and spend on a defender. The main problem is we will get rinsed as everyone knows we are now desperate.

Not sure I'd frame all this in terms of top 4 tbh but I agree we can't play Ndidi out of position. We'd lose our defensive midfield cover (which is huge) and have a non-dedicated CB all in one move. I doubt we'll buy (certainly not big) though. I think a lot will also depend on how JJ, Pereira and Thomas are looking. We have a lot of good cover at full back which helps.

I really hope our we learn from this. Last season it took so long to get Fofana over the line that we had to put Wilf in a makeshift defence despite knowing he was carrying an injury. Then he was out for 3 months.

This time, though you can’t predict a freak injury like this, we’re left with one fit first team centre back 3 days ahead of a Community Shield and another gruelling season with a Europa campaign. Now we’re in a crisis before the season’s even begun.

Settle the feck down . We do have two/three other CB's and an open window ! Rudkin will have a list in front of him & will be working the phone. Better this happens while the window is still open. Injuries are a part of the game & Leicester will deal with it.

Amartey is a great option...if you are happy to finish mid table. We were always light at CB and recruitment was needed. We don't want to rely on Amartey being first choice, fine as a utility player. Benkovic is obviously out of favour and Nelson is not up there yet. We have very little experience other than Soyuncu who is still young. Evans is not going to play much this season unfortunately. Ndidi should not be pulled into CB, he can do a job but we miss him in midfield (at least Soumare could fill in for him now).

Proves the point that we are not as comfortable a Top 6 side as many think. A few key injuries and we are light and average. We need a lot of things to go our way now to repeat the successes of the past 2 seasons.

We were incredibly comfortable with 4 at the back last night until the devastating injury. Round pegs in round holes, what a difference. No 3 at the back nonsense with makeshift players like Ndidi or Castagne who were not only poor there but it severely weakened other areas on the pitch and made our game descend into a seemingly clueless and ponderous dirge. Ricardo, was also somewhere near his old self last night, comfortable in a more familiar role with devastating runs from deep at times. He is not a winger and a poor wing back.

We could have done with a further centre half anyway but certainly need one now. The who, I trust to the club as I think they know what they're doing. I doubt they'll be a winger coming in as well though now without a big sale like Maddison. Too be honest we can work round the last one tactically as we showed last night.

Regardless of Benko being able to step up or not, we need to get a CB in. Cannot spend another season trying to fit square pegs into round holes. Big Dan would actually be my last choice of CB behind Ndidi, Bertrand and Benko. But then I don't want to risk using Soumare or Mendy as Ndidi replacements. Either way we need a CB in ASAP. Problem is now that people will know we are desperate so perhaps a loan move is the way to go?
