I can understand people moaning about the speakers being too loud as that can really spoil the experience.

 

The goal music for a few seconds is not going to spoil it for anybody and if the kids like it I can’t see the problem with it.

Well I thought the clappers were a bit rubbish and slightly embarrassing when they started. Then we won the league with a ground full of clappers. It kind of softened my attitude to them.

Someone must be sat there with their finger hovering waiting for the whistle as it happened immediately, same for the goal that was clearly offside it seemed they couldn’t resist pressing play for the goal music 🤦🏻‍♂️

Hate the goal music and it seems to stunt the celebrations to me, but the crowd seemed so apathetic today that it probably didn't matter. Seems many just missed 18 months of booing time.

I don’t mind this years goal music as it reminds me of the Champions League tour. The previous post modern mash up of the post horn gallop however was dreadful.

On the positive side, it's a decent song. Chelsea Dagger was the worst of the music we've had. Thus Girl is perfect post-match celebratory music.

The problem is, music is subjective and therefore divisive. If the sound quality is shit and too obtrusive, what can be seen as "celebratory" to some, can be tiresome and irksome to others. The entire pre-match/matchday experience is becoming so prescriptive even to the fact that you can set your watch by the chants. Almost makes you appreciate more the fact that you are paying to watch such an erratic and unpredictable football team. 

 

I don't like Kasabian, but I appreciate that their music is individual to the club and identified with the city. 'Club Foot' is perfect for the build up. 'Hey Jude' is meaningless and predictable and I have no idea why people are lamenting the loss of 'Ready to Go' or 'Let me Entertain You' when it was also played at a hundred other grounds around the country. It's no different to suggesting 'Simply the Best' by Tina Turner. 

 

I'd quite like to hear "So What?" by the Anti Nowhere League just before kick off, but then, someone mentioned "family atmosphere".

People have been criticizing this stuff for much longer than we've been good on the pitch.

I didn't moan yesterday. I had a fantastic day with 40 of my mates. 

 

Agree that you can't meet the needs of 32000 people, hence why criticism is perfectly valid. Glad we agree.

The new goal music doesn’t bother me in the moment, but I’d be happy to see the back of it for one reason alone:

 

When it starts playing and cuts off straight away because the flag is up, it’s horrendous and the last thing anyone wants to hear. And it gees up the away fans even more.
