It was his recording through PA.

The pre-match music was honestly ****ing dreadful. Goal music doesn't bother me massively but yeah it's shit. Strange decision by the club but if that's the most we've got to complain about we can consider ourselves very lucky.

Some of you lot must go to periodic fan liaison meetings or whatever they put on with Whelan and co.

Raise it. Mention it's detrimental to atmosphere. Mention the potential for mistakes and embarrasment if played for a disallowed goal (especially now VAR is a thing). Mention that it was taken away as a mark of respect to Khun Vichai, and that you'd far rather have the fans making the noise after a goal - a round of "Vichai Had A Dream" was of course often heard following a goal in those pre-Covid games, but is now drowned out by some crappy trumpets.

It's one thing to moan about it on here, but as with everything else, it's those channels which lead to positive change when something like that, which nobody asked for and nobody seems to like (or at least view positively) is implemented at the club.

This is the problem, we moan moan moan but won't be pro-active to change anything.  It separates us from most fans around the world, our endless apathy to change anything....myself included.

Unfortunately I can't think of one thing that has been raised at a FCC or "Your 90 minutes" meeting that has been implemented.

No issues with the music and I have no issues hearing it 3 or 4 times ever home game!! To be honest its an after effect and doesn't add to the euphoria. 

 

Music at sporting events during breaks at key moments, even mid game at the basketball is the way it is today. 5 years from now it could be replaced with something completely different.. we saw them experimenting with with famous Amazon light show!

It's that kind of crappy, outdated "trumpet pop" that was fun for five minutes when Carnival De Paris came out, but which has inexplicably stuck around for the 25 years since in the UK - just when you think it's finally gone for good, Rag & Bone Man popped up with Giant to give it CPR even after the rest of us had passed the "Do Not Resucitate" order.

We sent it to Eurovision this year and got our first nil points in 18 years. Because the rest of Europe, and even most of us, think it's a bit shit now.

Christ, can't believe I'm saying it, but I'd even take Chelsea Dagger again over it. It's just so... tepid. Like something you'd play at your kid's birthday party down the Working Men's Club for musical chairs, not to hype up the crowd at the footy.

I would complain to the club if I knew who to complain to.
 

Who actually decides the matchday stuff? Does anyone actually know? Because I very much doubt that supporter liaison have much say. 
 

I genuinely thought we’d ended goal music a couple of years ago (although obviously it was Vichai’s death that promoted the change, rather than listening to the fans) 

 

The fact it has returned makes me smell a “strategy” of some sort - they need telling they are on the wrong path

Club love owt like that though don’t they. Clappers, fan cam, goal music, light shows. It’s the image they wan’t, only need to look at the photos they put out on matchday.
