He'll benefit from leaving as lots of players have.

He was a serviceable PL striker when he first joined, he's nosedived as the the whole club has. 5 goals and 3 assists in 1150 minutes his first PL season, you don't go from that to 2 goals in 1200 championship minutes without other issues.

He's on 0.58 G+A per 90 at Leicester is good but the context of the decline has probably hit him harder than anyone.

Our style doesn't really help him, particularly recent years, we haven't got the ball forward much full stop and when we have he has been lacking confidence. We were so slow at getting the ball forward of into the box. Its not much use for any striker. I feel a more direct style might help him.

Never seen so many excuses for one player before.

He's obviously a really really nice guy.

I wanted it to work for him, but we are where we are.

Its done. He's the best we've got for the remainder of the season (a sad statement indeed!)

He needs to 'sign off' with at least 6 or 7 goals - but it ain't gonna happen.

Such a shame. Really wanted him to push on since that glorious night in Moscow

Definitely this.

No one defending him is claiming he's going to suddenly start ripping it up, but it's not like he's missing 10 chances a game.

Stoke was the first time in years I can remember us putting balls down the channel for a striker, and he was a lot more in the game. Certainly helps the other players to free up movement. Again, this isn't me saying he shouldn't leave or shouldn't be criticised. His time is clearly up here, but I'd persist with him until the end of the season.

I think when he leaves us he will have a much better time. It just hasn't worked for a number of reasons. And a lot of them reasons certainly aren't on him.

Football doesnt work like that. We’d of naturally sat back and let them dominate us for the rest of the half like Leicester always does when ahead

Haven't seen evidence of that since Rowett has been in charge albeit two games.  We went back on the front foot when we played Stoke after they had equalised late on.  Went toe to toe with Middlesborough in the week last 6 minutes it was a nervy end to end, either team could have won it.  We look refreshed under Rowett pray it continues.

I dont give a shit as long as goals are created...

But im also NOT hopeful that Rowett is the answer

why would you not be hopeful he’s the answer? We should All be hopeful he’s the answer. He might not be , but it’s bizarre for you to not be hopeful he’s the answer. It sounds like you WANT us to get relegated

He's not really suited to playing upfront by himself, which we probably should have been aware of when scouting him (if we did.)

I think he'll come good elsewhere playing as part of a front 2, as he did at Salzburg.

Striker is such an important position as well, a really prolific one can end up masking all sorts of issues in a team.

FT score - 2-3

Team A with crap striker.

79% possession

29 shots off target, 6 on target, 2 goals. (both own goals from Team B's shambolic defense)

Team B
21 % possession.
0 shots off target, 3 on target, 3 goals.

Beat Norwich at home, and i will jump on the boat and Rowett...

Has to keep starting ahead of Ayew.

Regardless of whether he’s scoring or not we play better with and without the ball without Ayew up front.

He’ll leave in the summer and go somewhere where he’ll play in a 4-3-1-2 or 4-2-2-2 and likely end up bagging.

Reckon he will bag a few, but not the numbers we need. He's still the best we got from the perspective of what he brings to our overall play though. Boro confirmed that Ayew is not that and never will be.

I'd put money on Richards outscoring both him and the lump this season if he gets even ten games in this side though. He's only got to get six goals for crying out loud! We'll have to see if Rowett is willing to give him a chance first. I really hope it's him and Patson on rotation before long.

Richards won't make another 6apps let alone score 6 goals.

Ah just stick Bobby or Jannik up front then. I could have been at the Olympics with the amount of mental gymnastics I've been doing to block out the idea of Ayew having a part to play in our survival bid. lol

Insult to league 1.

Genuinely think he struggles to get in Anstey Nomads.

Yeah…let’s be honest, no you don’t and no he wouldn’t.

Criticism is fine but these hyperbolic comments get a bit tiresome.

League 1 is 100% Daka's level, as it was Nacho's

When we got relegated in 22/23 people said Daka and Iheanacho would score for fun in the Championship lol

I think both have / had all the technical and athletic attributes they needed to score a decent amount of goals in this league.

Some truly honking players have scored quite a lot of goals at this level.

Iheanacho, however, straight up gave absolutely zero ****s and it was extremely evident immediately at the start of the season he didn't care anymore. And Daka is just so far gone in his confidence here it's just never, ever going to happen.

I think Daka could be playing for us against Merthyr Tydfil in National League North and it wouldn't surprise me if he didn't score.

Edit: just to add, in the limited minutes Daka played in the last Championship season (just over 1000) a reminder again he got 0.99 G+A/90 and only Vardy was more productive of all players in the league to play as many or more minutes. We've been over this, he actually wasn't terrible and if he'd played all year he probably would have done pretty well but he obviously sat behind the GOAT in the pecking order which is no crime.
