Saddens me that more than one ref can get that wrong.

Can sort of understand IF Oliver's view is partially blocked and he genuinely thinks Hummels has crunched the player.

But for another ref to look at it and see it at various angles, and see Hummels hasn't done that, and still come to the decision to keep the red is unforgivable, and extremely embarrassing.

This the Liverpool game?

Yeah. Don't get me wrong, be fuming if that was for us.

The red was a tad harsh, but for the follow up stuff, this ref is my hero.

He should strut past Simeone at the break.

Maybe blow him a kiss.

Love every ref to do this tbh. Well done him

Assume you mean Liverpool then I 100% agree. Nowhere near the ball, stopping an attack. Same as Winks against us last game of season 20/21.

Looks a very soft penalty for Bellingham there.

An example of a referee feeling like they have to even things out?

There was some contact but the fall from Bellingham was clearly contrived and theatrical. Thought that contact had to be seen as meaningful.

Same. For me there's a reason why Bellingham has fallen so theatrically.

It looks soft but he kicks his foot and prevents him from shooting. So I can understand.

Very card happy tonight these refs

Not usually one for lots of card but what else is he supposed to do with Atletico's petulance and acting like 5 year olds.
