It's not really a shit rule though is it? If a player plays a through ball to an offside player and it takes a nick off a defender on the way, you can't give the goal surely

Falling out of love with this game.

Said the same to my mates. I'm so bored of football! And not just Leicester either.

So.Huddersfield are 1-0 up last minute tomorrow.Forest score like Real did and it’s disallowed.Hand on heart would there be the same outrage or would you agree with Walton?

Not sure what's been worse tonight...

The match being delayed because of the scousers

The americanised pre match show

The game itself

The offside decision

Or the Katy Perry just eat advert

The pre match stuff was awful imo.

Shit thing is that I absolutely love the way this Real Madrid team play, like a 2016 Leicester.  I just cant like them due to being Real Madrid.

Edit - Real Madrid are not better than 2016 Leicester, no one is better than 2016 us :)

That's very different to what happened though.

What about Konate sliding in and touching the ball?

I think Konate sliding in made the contact by Fabinho accidental. It’s a crap rule, we should just accept the outcome of the many players coming together.

He did slid in, but the nature of the contact was accidental. Crap rule, but it is the rule.

It's nonsense that a player sliding towards the ball can be judged as making accidental/unintentional contact with it. Crap rule.

It is, but it would be the same reason. You could argue it was a deliberate play by Fabinho but saying the rule is stupid is a bit weird imo

Exactly, rule is fine and they've interpreted wrong

VAR is just bullshit. If that offside hadn't been given on the pitch VAR would've given that as a goal.

I think we would all be in agreement with Peter Walton on that occasion.

Completely agree, just let me game flow, not ever situation needs a rule specific to,it. Common sense required.

And the only reason it’s not been given on the pitch is that the linesman has to assume it’s come off Valverde. He’s put his flag up to alert the referee to the fact that Benzema is in an offside position so the referee has gone with the linesman.

I can see where people are coming from saying that. But it's pretty obvious why they disallowed it.

What a dreadful rule…another decision that does actually seem correct by the letter of the law but makes no sense to anyones common understanding of football.

“For it to be a deliberate action the defender must have time and options” **** off

You don't mind contentious decisions when you can blame the ref and move on.

Now they have cameras and more contentious decisions. Almost like an orchestrated drama.

Fabinho is intentionally sliding back towards the goal trying to win the ball. If he connects with the ball its only going to go back towards the goal. How is that not intentional

Probably a stupid question but can someone tell me why in that context Robertson wouldn’t be playing Benzema on? Sorry for being a Luddite.

Goalie is ahead of him - you need 2 players to be closer to the goal than you to be onside.

I should have clarified...it came off Fabinho who had deliberately slid in to get the ball.
