Hammo Posted 28 May 2022 Posted 28 May 2022 I feel like Rio Ferdinand does about that ‘offside’ goal. 🤷🏻
filbertway Posted 28 May 2022 Posted 28 May 2022 F Peter Walton and the terrible rules HALA MADRID!!!
Jimothy Posted 28 May 2022 Posted 28 May 2022 So Peter Walton is saying if a striker kicks the ball away from goal and hits a defender and bounces back to him it's offside? Bullshit
Dahnsouff Posted 28 May 2022 Posted 28 May 2022 Just now, Tommy Fresh said: What a terrible rule though, all 3 are playing for the ball. After Valverde touches it, it then travels in the opposite direction from Konates touch then back to Benzema off of Fabinho. Don’t disagree, not even sure Valverde touches it, it’s yet another bizarre cloudy decision, but by its correct by the rule (which may have been written on a fag packet during the 5 minutes hiatus)
bovril Posted 28 May 2022 Posted 28 May 2022 1 minute ago, Cardiff_Fox said: No. The idea behind the rule is say if a defender heads it back from a hoof but cocks it up and the attacker is twenty yards behind him not interfering then the goal stands. In that example Fabinho has made a block to stop a pass to a non offside player / shot If he's not interfering... Valverde passes it forward when Benzema is offside 5 yards from goal
Nalis Posted 28 May 2022 Posted 28 May 2022 If accidential is the key thing then its surely the rule that needs looking at rather than the decision? 3
foxfanazer Posted 28 May 2022 Posted 28 May 2022 Not sure what's been worse tonight... The match being delayed because of the scousers The americanised pre match show The game itself The offside decision Or the Katy Perry just eat advert 1
Popular Post tom27111 Posted 28 May 2022 Popular Post Posted 28 May 2022 Peter Walton is dead to me. Nob. 7
Guest Lako42 Posted 28 May 2022 Posted 28 May 2022 What isn't intentional about winning the ball from a tackle?
Dahnsouff Posted 28 May 2022 Posted 28 May 2022 Just now, Arkie Bennett said: He slid across to get the ball, the contact wasn't accidental. He did slid in, but the nature of the contact was accidental. Crap rule, but it is the rule. 2
Jaspa Posted 28 May 2022 Posted 28 May 2022 One of the Liverpool players did play the ball deliberately though. What's Walton on about?
trabuch Posted 28 May 2022 Posted 28 May 2022 Just now, Cardiff_Fox said: It’s a stupid rule though because an official has to assume a players intention. Which is nonsense. I'm pretty sure the rule's intention is to avoid slightly deflected passes counting as onside. I don't think that decision is in the spirit of what the law intended at all. 1

Bullshit Convinced he's talking crap. Sure there is nothing in the rules about the touch having to be deliberate to count. 1

Guest David Oldfields Gate Posted 28 May 2022 Posted 28 May 2022 Shit rule. Shit implementation. Shit interpretation. Shit outcome. Falling out of love with this game.

Just make some clear rules because that could be either or…… it bounces off Fabinho’s leg, so surely it’s a goal? It’s not a deflection….. Wasn't he offside as the ball was played over the top..?? I don't know.. Anyway..enjoyable game..seems some fans..no weird cynics...actually sitting at home with gritted teeth and clenched arse, just wishing ,hoping L'pool loose. Not really interested in the football at All.. Plus some others wanting it to be a shit game, and believe it is if they shout loud enough... WTF have we got for supporters.. .I must of been transported into some zombie dimension...

The match being delayed because of the scousers The americanised pre match show The game itself The offside decision Or the Katy Perry just eat advert It's soccer ball baby. Been slowly sneaking in unopposed. Next season I'll bet we hear the term 'Jersey' used regularly as well as 'Roster'. There's a right appetite for it. I do wonder if I'll be a football fan into my old age; the game is changing way too fast into something I don't fully know anymore. 1
whoareyaaa Posted 28 May 2022 Posted 28 May 2022 Rule should be if it touches your player then the other player is offside regardless of it being accidental or not, that's how it used to be right?
Vacamion Posted 28 May 2022 Posted 28 May 2022 Me at the start of that VAR check: Me at the end of that VAR check:

when_you're_smiling Posted 28 May 2022 Posted 28 May 2022 (edited) The other thing that Walton on BT is completely ignoring is the second part of that law which says it’s not deliberate, and therefore inside, if the developer is ‘attempting to stop the ball’ close to the goal. Presumably at least one of the defenders if not both was trying to do that. Edited 28 May 2022 by when_you're_smiling
UniFox21 Posted 28 May 2022 Posted 28 May 2022 this sums it up pretty well for me actually. Fabinho slides in aiming to play the ball (as if he doesn't and takes the man, it's a foul). So the intent is their to play the ball surely? 3
