Now, let's be clear, I know it's very easy to have a knee-jerk reaction after one game....

But the reality is, for me, it's not just 'one game'.

Tonights/last night game is a regular occurrence for us.

Pretty much every defeat we have, looks exactly the same.

Slow ponderous possession, doing us more harm than it benefits us, passing the ball straight to the opposition, goal.

When I go back, and look over our results from last season, so many of our bad results were exactly the same.

Everton at home - All the possession, but unable to cope with the counter and physical threat of DCL + Richarlison.

West Ham Home + Away - Absolutely battered at home and schooled tactially away.

Leeds Home - Again, being purely down to the opposition having more energy whilst we were too lethargic.

Southampton Away - Couldn't even look threatening against 10 men! Look at how West ham dominated us in comparison.

I even look at positive results.

2-1 win at Brighton.....Slow, ponderous, saved by a mistake allowing Amartey to nick it.

3-1 win at home to Liverpool....Battered for 70 minutes, fortunate free kick and Allison+Kabak mix up gets us points.

2-1 win at Man Utd.... Struggled against a reserve side! Again, slow and lethargic.

1-0 win last week at home to Wolves....Terrible 2nd half, barely deserved a point let alone 3.

Now I get we're here to win trophies, and an FA Cup is better than 4th, from a fans perspective.

But even in the final, Schmeichel was realistically our Man of the Match, in a game where we created nothing.

It's so frustrating.

We all know what his line up will be before a game, so do our opponents!

Predictable, naive and every single defeat/bad result....Even good results! Look the same.

When we aren’t winning cups and finishing top 8.

So if we have a squad that should finish 5th, but we finish 8th, he's done a satisfactory job?

The FA Cup last season, whilst of course great, only masks what was once again, a failure to finish in the top 4, where this side should have been, for the past 2 seasons.

He needs a cup or top 4 for me.

The fact Liverpool/Chelsea/Man United are all stronger this year, is irrelevant too.

We were stronger than two of those last season.....And Rodgers failed to finish above them then.

Not yet.

But we've not been very good for a while now. It feels like we've picked up where we left off last season in terms of performances.

When we lose, we get completely battered and we look naive.

When we win, we're marginally better than opponents, or nick tight games.

When I look at what Potter manages to get out of his Brighton side, and I look at the level of player we have here, I can't help but think he would offer us so much more.

Or how Lage got a 2nd half performance out of Wolves last week, in his first game in charge, that was better than a half I can remember from us for a long long time.

It's worrying me, how technically inferior our players look to everyone we play.

It's as if the slow, pedestrian pace we play at, is exactly how we train, and our players touches/passing is declining too.

It was a bad day at the office, and Rodgers did say we were too slow with the ball so at least he sees it, however I did feel he did little to change it throughout the game. We have to give West Ham huge credit, there shape out of possession was superb, they allowed out centre half’s to have the ball but denied them many opportunities  to bring Youri into the game.

when we did break lines, we lacked the quality and speed of thought to capitalise.  Make no mistake we were honking but credit West Ham they did an absolute job on us and we had no response.

I wouldn’t question Rodgers, weave finished 5th twice and recently won the FA Cup and Charity Shield, we have also come into the new season with 3 key defenders missing and our new signing picking up a knock so was always going to be challenge to get off to a flyer. Important for me is the reaction on Saturday against Norwich.

we are a rage in our development as a club where we will have these occasional brain farts of performances, we have to hope the team and Manager learn quickly.

It isn't and shouldn't be. You can't go about setting targets without taking into account how your rivals for those positions have improved.

It's a bit early to start panicking but it is a worrying performance.

We have excuses, just like we did last time we shat the bed against these, but the lack of belief was obvious.

If we keep playing like that for the next 5 or 6 games then the voices of doom will become louder.  I'm just waiting for the first 'rent a pundit' to say " he's lost the dressing room" or "they've downed tools".

We seriously do need to question some of his decision making because as they are atrocious.

Question 1. How has he turned our injurie record to one of the worse in the clubs history. This shows people need to change within the medical role.

Question 2. Why do the players after a good pre season look out of breath after 20 mins and can't get into the game.

Question 3. Why be persistent on getting 76% possession without the ball going over the half way l8ne and God for bid if it does Why pass it back to Kasper?

Question 4. Why is your decision making when making a substitute odd and mis timed every game.

Question 5. Why do you sign a in form striker and play a out of form striker?

I feel sorry for Iheanacho and Daka.

Question 6. Why do you keep playing Ayoze Perez to this day I cant see why we even purchased him and don't say its because he is Honest.

Question 7. Why buy Soumare a inform Midfielder and keep playing a out of form Maddison?

Just to name a few im sure everyone else has more questions to what I have put.

But just because im questioning him doesn't mean he should be sacked but he has so much to improve on I think in a lot of cases he has had results go his way down to luck if anything.

We've always questioned him, it's a big part of the game.

So far, he's always answered them.

On the balance of his 100 odd games in charge, I’m not questioning him.

on the back of 12/18 of those games I am questioning him

hence I’ll let him manage my football team for the time being without question …… it’s not ‘football manager’ !

1 defeat and some of you are questioning BR if we had won last night  this topic would not of come up ,,and playing with 10 men didnt help our situation we were stretched all over the park, so my advice please keep the faith in the players and BR .

When he first came our press was top notch, now like the thread starter says we have become slow and ponderous.

In recent months WBA and Sheffield Utd a side ( crap teams)

I cannot recall the last game when we played well.

Same criticism could be hung at Guardiola’s door who seemingly forever gets done by a certain tactic

Now.

Sticking with a sole Vardy is a massive error of judgement. Ignoring the second half of last season’s European in-form striker compounds it. Iheanacho has to start. This is not a mistake forced on him by injuries, he has consciously made this choice. Plus, playing anything, animate or inanimate, on the right in place of Perez would be an improvement.

I've always questioned his subs, as have a lot of people, whether it be lack of subs, wrong subs, subs at wrong time.

We were lucky to go in at HT at only 1-0. That was with 11 men, never mind 10... then nothing changes... we come out for the second half exactly the same. Vardy, on his own all night, had no chance. He needed someone closer to him. Midfield needed changing. We were having loads of possession but doing fvck all with it. Subs were far to late again.

I knew Barnes coming back would cause issues for Rodgers. He's took an in form Iheanacho out the side to persist with one up top.

How can you prove we were stronger? And even if we were, how about taking into account injuries.

How do you quantify where our squad should finish? Especially with injuries. Historically wages dictate position more than they don’t and our budget is in the 7th, 8th, 9th reason.
