Castagne Evans/amartey Cags Thomas

Ricardo Tielemans Soumare Albrighton

               Iheanacho Vardy

Defense first, attack/possession second, we need wingers who can track back. Reckon if we try and contain them vardy and nacho will be able to nick at least one on the counter.

anyone that thinks Brendan is anywhere near close to being sacked obviously doesn’t know a lot about our owners. He’ll be given plenty of time to turn things round, and deservedly so.

Imagine if we end Solskjaer though lol

I’ll be lumping on us to win this, then lose to Brentford the week after. I’ve been watching Leicester long enough to know it’s likely we’ll turn up for this game and not bother against mid table teams.

Brentford are hardly mid table right now and will thump us good and proper if we continue to be as abject and lacklustre as we have been so far this season.

Agreed and probably a bad example to use Brentford but they were the next fixture I could go to. Just meant it would be like the other year, when we beat Chelsea and Man City (?) and then lost Cardiff at home straight after.

I’m really hoping Vardy bags. You just know he’s going to take the piss with a Ronaldo celebration.

Get the Southampton 2 benched immediately, hope and pray Evans is fit. Keep Vardy and Iheanacho upfront, if that means benching the wingers to accommodate, so be it, harsh on Lookman, less so on Barnes.

                      Schmeichel

          Amartey     Evans    Soyuncu

Ricardo   Soumare    Tielemans     Castagne

                          Maddison

                   Iheanacho   Vardy

....Nacho dropping deep could cause a problem for Maddison!!!

To sit back and watch them find defensive holes, or to fail to out score them: that is the question; whether tis nobler in the mind to weather a flurry of Sancho crosses or to take arms against a sea of half-arsed pressing. Nah. We’ll turn up for this game. Mark my words. A miracle. That’s all I want.

Really?...

Why?

Can you not see the difference in long term planning between the Rodgers and Ranieri tenures? When you build a long term project like we’re attempting to do with Brendan you don’t just sack him after a slow start to the season.

So Ranieri wasn't appointed with a medium/long term project in mind?…

Just, win the PL and then fvck off?😂

Obviously not, but in hindsight that was always going to be a short term appointment given his age and career history. Guys had a LOT of clubs.

Brendan on the other hand:

-Allowed to replace a huge number of back room staff with his own.
-Given new training ground, although that would’ve always been the plan anyway.
-Improved(lol) / sustainable playing style introduced along with the help of everyone’s mate Puel.

Granted I didn’t explain my point very well above but you can’t tell me that Ranieri was going to be a long term project like BR has been.

Ranieri has just been appointed Manager at a PL club...had lots of mileage left in him.

I hate it when we play 352 but they struggled with it last time. Iheanacho has to start alongside Vardy, in possession Castagne & Pereira obviously push up which should offer the front 2 enough support, Soumare adds physicality which will help combat their size.

                           Vardy   Iheanacho

             Soumare       Choudhury        Tielemans

     Castagne  Cags Vestergaard  Amartey  Pereira

                                Schmeichel

Lookman and Barnes to come on for Choudhury & Vestergaard if we we smell blood or need to chase the game.

If we do play that, we need to be more direct with our passing. When our wing backs push up, our back 3 spreads across the pitch and as soon as we play a loose pass, the other team then has huge gaps to attack into. The back 5 basically needs to stay as a back 5, I'd be tempted to go 5 2 3/3 4 3 and just leave 3 pacey players at the top end of the pitch ready to be released when we win the ball back.

It doesn't matter what formation we play if we continue to keep trying to pass our way out of trouble while confidence is so low. Set up to hit them on the counter and have their defenders running back towards their own goal, we know Maguire can rival Vestergaard for turn of pace.

That being said, I'm sure we'll continue to play the same way, if Ole has any sense he'll have his team press us from the front and just wait for us to gift them goals. Our ace in the hole is that Ole is not a very good manager.
