My feelings closer to the day

Cant see our defense stopping the penetration..we can only use some lube and cushion the shafting we are about to get.

I'm normally the eternal optimist, but with Ndidi out for at least a month, I'm not going to be very confident in any up coming fixture.

 

Praying Evans is back to at least organise our defence a bit or we could be leaking goals even worse than we have been.

 

With no Mendy to deputise Ndidi I also hope either Choudhury or Soumare are on top of their game as they act as a makeshift replacement.

All depends who is fit for both teams after the international break.

 

Also if I were them I'd take the opportunity to rest some key players. They won't need to play their best team to win easily so they could easily rest Ronaldo etc.

 

If we can restrict them to 5 we will have done ok.

Get the Southampton 2 benched immediately, hope and pray Evans is fit. Keep Vardy and Iheanacho upfront, if that means benching the wingers to accommodate, so be it, harsh on Lookman, less so on Barnes.

We will have no possession ,so it will be constant defence , Hamza and Soumare in and definitely no Maddison. If we score it will be on the break . Watch how Villa did it and do the same.

I'd go with this. Maybe Choudhury over Soumare.

 

We have to play 5 at the back, we simply don't have the players/form to play 4 at the moment.

Iheanacho and Vardy have to start.

I agree, could make an argument over personnel within the formation, such as Hamza over Soumare or having a natural left footer, Thomas as the left wing back, or even Lookman as the 10 ahead of Maddison, however, I think the formation has to be that 3-5-2 / 3-4-1-2

Buzzing to go to this one. I only get to go to a couple of games a year and this happens to be one of them. 
 

Oh, by the way, I haven’t seen us score in-person for 4 years. I am so sorry.
