Why would the club want to appoint a manager from the very top drawer when the fans are happy with us bring a mistake club? Potter would just about match the ambition of most of our fanbase

Most of the suggestions I've seen are appalling. Potter? Nuno? Lampard? Get out. I'd be mortified if we replaced Rodgers with one of those. I think a good portion of our fan base underestimate how good Rodgers actually is unfortunately, and I feel its imperative that the manager that proceeds him is on his level at the very least, otherwise we're moving backwards. The likes of Ten Hag and Mancini meet this criteria, so it's got to be someone of that ilk.

For me, the new manager has to bring exciting football. We have, for the most part, had that with Rodgers. Granted there have been more than a fair share of utterly dire games under Brendan but I just can't go back to a Puel like manager. I think we are in a great position where we can afford to give a manager like Potter a go or maybe go for it and push the boat out for someone like Rangnick.

There is simply no chance we can tempt a manager on Brendan's level to us. Just a fact of life. We are in the bottom half of the Premier League with a nigh on full squad either coming to the end of their careers or their contracts. It's not the same opportunity that it was when Brendan came.

I think the club learnt the lesson with Puel. It just wasn't right.

Really?

a great opportunity to work with a mainly young squad. The older members of the squad are top motivated quality pros.

I think we’d have a few very decent names interested

but I don’t expect the job will be available any time soon ….

Just got a hunch (based on nothing concrete) that if Rodgers does leave we'll go for Nuno. Premier League experience (the three previous PL appointments bar Shakespeare all had it), improved a provincial team similar to ourselves and wouldn't have to pay compensation.

This place will be fun if we go for Nuno.

The new training ground and stadium expansion plans show that we mean business. I genuinely don't believe the club would do all of that, and then replace Rodgers with a mid table manager. Considering what we pay Rodgers, I reckon we can afford to at least tempt most managers.

Mancini or even Potter would be the perfect fit. Both set up intelligent attacking teams exciting to watch

Do you really think Rodgers is remotely as good as Mancini? 🤣🤣 if so, I think you're overestimating him.

Don’t know whether it’s been suggested but could we end up with Dean Smith and possibly shakey coming back?

Not that I would want this but the remit seems to be someone with previous pl experience.

Pass me the razorblade!!

Man United Face Watford away next and then Chelsea away. The pressure on Ole will be huge going into the Chelsea match if they slip-up in the first one of those two which could easily happen.

I reckon we will see how things stand more clearly then regarding BR

Yeah I think that was the case when Brendan arrived. The likes of Maddison, Barnes, Ndidi, Soyuncu, Tielemans and Chilwell all under 22.

Now those players are all at the point where they're either not here anymore (Chilwell) or approaching the crossroad of their contract situation (Barnes excluded).

As you say, I don't expect the position to need filling for a year or so but we definitely are on the cusp of a big change in personnel (playing staff).

I didn't say that, I said the manager that proceeds Rodgers must be on his level at the very least. Mancini certainly is, he's better in fact. I'd love him here.

That Wolves side was so boring...

I'm not saying we should, just that he fits the bill based on previous appointments.

I don't think finding a new manager is straightforward.

Vichai had a dream.....Nuno had a dream.....no way this could ever happen. The universe would surely implode on itself

Personally, he'd be my first choice. Sadly, it's never going to happen though. 😞

Me too, he'd be absolutely perfect for us. If Rodgers does go to Man Utd, I'd at least try to get him in as the replacement. What a statement that would be.

...it depends on which side you are on....!!!

Wether unfounded, the process of law needs to be implemented and any attempt to pervert its enforcement, makes you culpable to a felony.

The American lady who was wanted for the death of a motor cyclist and refused to return citing diplomatic immunity, was not extradited even after numerous request.

That decision didn't look good, she should have come back, ...it all depends whose side your on.

Doubt very much he'd leave the Italian national team before the World Cup and in any case,  if he became available, there'd be a lot of bigger clubs than us in the queue.
