Is there any concrete evidence to support the rumour that he has a release clause? I didn't think the club allowed them in contracts since Kante

I'd imagine when Rodgers got his new contract with Spurs and Arsenal sniffing around, he was in a very strong negotiating position.

If Rodgers has a champions league club release Clause we cannot reject an approach from Manchester United, they part the 20 odd million he goes.

if we can spin it out for a few weeks we won't have to worry about United being in the Champions League

The release clause is irrelevant

we won’t stop Brendan going to United so as long as they pay the comp, he goes.

we can’t use the mid season argument either as we refused to allow him to finish his time at Celtic that way.

if they do want him (no one knows this) and he does want to go (no one knows this either) then it surely happens (which is, by definition, unknown)

Has to be Ten Haag for Me. Chuck the Rodgers wages at him and he would be interested. The top clubs wouldn’t be looking at him. He isn’t a big enough name. He needs a club like Leicester to make a name for himself similar to what Rodgers has done with us.

Surely, if you were going to sack OGS and Rodgers had verbally agreed to go it would have happened by now? Soljaer would have been sacked on Monday and the formalities of BRs appointment would be happening.

Not saying that couldn't happen in the future, but there's nothing in it for now.

No chance he comes to us .

I'd actually find it kind of hilarious if that happened, purely because Ten Hag is the man that United fans want. They're not very keen on Rodgers at all, so if they could pay us to take Rodgers and we use that money to go and get the manager their fans all wanted, it would be worth it just for the Man United meltdown it would cause.

Lampard off to Norwich

You can't do better than farke.  They have no money and wont borrow... so 2 years in the pl at a time is the best it can be.... as shown by farke.

Trouble is though I’m hoping he doesn’t go but the reports in the Daily Scum are saying he’ll be in for Wilf & Youri and god knows who else if he goes to Manure, so we could end up being managerless and losing some of our quality players?

Do you think Rodgers comes as a recommendation from SAF? Fellow Celt and all that.

With that kind of attitude we may as well go for someone like Phil Brown because little Leicester don't have the right to try and get an elite level manager.

I don't have a clue, I just know that a majority of Man United fans don't want Rodgers and would be seething if they paid us for Rodgers and we replaced him with Ten Hag, absolutely seething.

A club like Leicester? And not 4-times Champions League winning, producer of two of the greatest club sides ever, iconic in producing talent, home of Johann Cruyff, Ajax? :D

Ten Haag will stay at Ajax until Xavi messes up at Barca, and then he will go there, I reckon. That's not a slight on Leicester, it's just that weird Ajax/Barca relationship.

How is any of that relevant in 2021? What's relevant is we would double his wages (at least), and he'd be testing himself in the best football league in the world with one of the best five or six squads that league has to offer. Add our world class facilities to that, and it becomes a no brainer in my opinion.

He's not coming here. He's lined up for one of the elite jobs in Europe.

Just got a hunch (based on nothing concrete) that if Rodgers does leave we'll go for Nuno. Premier League experience (the three previous PL appointments bar Shakespeare all had it), improved a provincial team similar to ourselves and wouldn't have to pay compensation.

Cant see Rodgers going until at least the end of the season. He has done more than enough to have credit in the bank and cant see man u getting rid of ole any time soon, despite the pressure he is under.

Hypothetically, if he did leave for whatever reason, I would go for Amorim or Bo svensson. Amorim has lost 1 in 44 league games I believe and svensson has got mainz from relegation certainties to 7th in Germany, which is no mean feat.

He might well be, but if you don't ask you don't get. And if we have ambitions to become an elite club ourselves (and I believe we do) then we need to be audacious.

That Wolves side was so boring...

Hiring either of those would contradict the clubs ambitions. If Rodgers goes, his replacement must be from the very top drawer, otherwise there is no point in allowing him to move. Unless we have a Ten Hag or Mancini lined up to replace him, I'd reject any approach Man Utd make until we do.

Why would the club want to appoint a manager from the very top drawer when the fans are happy with us bring a mistake club? Potter would just about match the ambition of most of our fanbase
