So the tweeter got it from the local rag, the local rag got it from here.

Are caughtoffside credible? never heard of them.

When the bbc start talking about it, I will listen.

... if the BBC mentions it, his position would become untenable, dead man walking...!!!

If that report is accurate, it would be a repeat of his move from Celtic as he wanted to stay until the end of the season but we forced the issue for him to leave.

Hard to motivate when players know your time is up.

You might have been right there if you didn't finish 5th twice while also winning a cup having reached the semi final of another the year before. Two fifth place finishes and a trophy is not "flattering to deceive".

I'm not sure who it is you support, I've not checked your messages..... But what you're missing here is context.

Losing a 10 point gap, to a weaker side than you, is the exact definition of 'flattering to deceive'.

We were stronger than that Liverpool side last season, yet lost a 10 point lead to a side with two academy kids playing centre back.

I'll keep saying this, until people are able to grasp the simplicity of it, 5th is not a success if you throw away 4th.

The people who keep screaming 'Injuries' this season, to try and attempt to explain our poor form, fail to realise that Soyuncu+Castagne are far better 'back ups' (They're arguably actually 1st choice anyway) to Fofana+Justin than Phillips and Williams are back ups to Van Dijk and Gomez.

If you give someone £1.  ... then ask if they want to flip it to turn it to zero or £2, then most will keep the £1.  To get most to flip you have to offer a chance of zero or £3 if they win.

This shows we dislike losing more than we like winning.

This is why we feel so bad winding up 5th when we had anchored finishing 4th.

Perceived loss weighs heavily.

Whether you made top four or not literally hinges on one game by the looks of it. If you'd beaten Chelsea 2-1 instead of the other way around, you'd be in the champions league now. It's a fine margin, not "flattering to deceive"

What I want if Rodgers goes is Pearson back, here is an example as to why :

Nigel Pearson The bottom line is what has given us a chance to survive has been the collective spirit we have. To win four games on the spin at any level, but certainly at Premier League level, is difficult and for the players to have to deal with the amount of criticism and negativity they’ve had to endure over the course of the season has tested us. Without wanting to talk too much, the players come out with awful lot of credit for dealing with setbacks and I expect them to deal with tonight’s setback as well.

Ian Baker What criticism are you talking about?

NP Have you been on holiday for six months? Have you been away for six months?

IB No, I am just not quite sure what specific criticism you are referring to?

NP I think you must have either your head in the clouds, or been away on holiday, or reporting on a different team, because if you don’t know the answer to that question . . your question is absolutely unbelievable, the fact you do not understand where I am coming from. If you don’t know the answer to that question then I think you are an ostrich. Your head must be in the sand. Is your head in the sand? Are you flexible enough to get your head in the sand? My suspicion would be no.

IB Probably not.

NP I can, you can’t. You can’t. Listen you have been here often enough and for you to ask that question, you are either being very, very silly or you are being absolutely stupid, one of the two because for you to ask that question, I am sorry son, you are daft.

IB There hasn’t been much harsh criticism of the players.

NP You are wrong. No, you are wrong. You have been in here, I know you have so don’t give that crap with me, please don’t give that crap with me. I will smile at you because I can afford to smile at you. Now do you want to ask a different question or do you want to ask it differently. Come on, ask it. Ask it or are you not capable?

IB I just don’t know what you, erm ...

NP (mimicking his voice) You don’t know. What’s ’erm’?

IB I don’t know how you’ve taken that question.

NP Well you must be very stupid. I’m sorry. (Pearson gets up and leaves)

he's on record a few weeks ago stating that he's here as long as the club want him to be here.

he didn't have to say anything with such clarity.  he could have just batted the questions back with  more vague answers.  sort of - 'i'm very happy here' ......'i love working with the squad that i have' ........

Didn't he say the same at Celtic?

To be fair to him, if United want him he has to go. Can’t turn down a job like that. Wouldn’t hold it against him as he’s done well with us and has probably took us as far as he can.

Kind of a unsettling feeling with the UK media and Man U fans speculating on Brendan joining Man U. It's really not ideal for the club, what we need like in our Title winning season is that everyone in the club need to be as they say in the UK  'singing from the same hymn sheet' this includes players, manager, coaching staff, medical staff, recruitment team etc. I get the feeling West Ham currently are, feels like some at Leicester our singing will others are a verse behind or infront while others don't now the words or are out of tune.

If we start to improve the league and European form the speculation will grow.

If the next manager comes in and does well he'll be linked with other jobs too. It is the nature of the game.

He did.

“There’s always speculation but my only focus is Celtic. [If an approach came] I would speak to the board. It will take something extraordinary to take me away from here.”
Brendan Rodgers (Apr 2018)

"I woke up here on a Monday morning as the manager of Celtic, believe it or not the sky is blue here in Glasgow and I’m in the best job in the world.
I absolutely love it here. I’m so happy here at Celtic. I’m in a job that I love."
Brendan Rodgers (Apr 2018)

these are comments batting stuff away. He said that he is staying here until the board tell him he isn’t wanted
