I was working with someone yesterday who’s a Leicester fan. Drove past filbert street, and just said how much of a shame it was that there’s nothing but a car park booth and some blue railings left from Filbert street…… he didn’t even know what filbert street was……. He assumed we were in the KP forever. Made me feel ****ing old.

He's really not a Leicester fan then.

Probably jumped on board in 2015/16.

That’s what I thought. He was born in 2004, so he would have never known it existed unless he either researched or was told about it.

Hope you told him he's a plastic.

Has he never wondered why it's Filbert Fox?

Hate how some many young people say, "it's before my time."

I mean, I know, and I'm sure many of us do, we used to play at Viccy Park, and that's well before anyone alive's time!

Tbqh, if we announced any form of project right now, It would be mental. We’re closer to league 1 than the prem

It amazes me that people still want it to happen 😂

Only thing I want with the stadium is some cleaning it's looking worn out these days. Wouldn't mind work being done so we can host concerts mind. Can't remember why but there's a reason we can't. Think we only had Kasabian play cause we won the league, could be wrong though.

Other clubs are moving forward off the pitch. We are not.

You can’t wait until we get promoted to kick something off. We had 10 seasons in the PL and were more established than we ever have been. Still no movement.

Next time we get promoted, whenever that maybe, we will be miles off it commercially with the teams we need to compete with.

Even Bristol City are building. Laughable.

So you want us to build a 40k stadium which we won’t come close to filling? It makes absolutely no sense. You expand your stadium when the demand is there and your club is on the up.

There isn’t the demand anymore and the club most certainly isn’t on the up. Attendances are only going to get worse under this regime as well as the slide.

it would be utterly bizarre to do it now. Missed the boat.

We will be in the early 20,000’s attendance for the coming years so it’d be poor timing.

We need to show we are a serious football club as at the moment, we look like we are closer to administration than the PL.

Our own fans can’t remember the situation building our current stadium put us in.

Not this again. A club should expand when at the bottom of the cycle so that it's in place ready to go when the upswing begins. That's what a club with ambition will do. Like Birmingham.

And if we don’t get promoted for another 10 years? Still the right decision to expand? We are going absolutely nowhere

You have to be ready for the next time we are in the PL. Fulham continued with theirs despite being relegated.

We will average 30K near enough this season despite being crap. Any top end championship season for us and it’s full.

In the PL we need more seats. That’s what we should have a stadium for.

We will average in reality about 26k this season with people through the door. We haven’t got the fanbase for it at the

moment. I don’t think it should be done until there is a change of ownership. What’s the point expanding when at best it’s going to be yo-yo for the next few season AT BEST.

This isn’t a realistic post, but to continue on the same sort of theme as a few other posters, I’ve almost reached the point of thinking it would be better to just knock down the current stadium and rebuild it on the same site. The acoustics aren’t good enough, and the place doesn’t have enough of a feel about it despite the success. It’s often been said in the past that the stadium was ‘built on the cheap’ and it does feel like that unfortunately.

To add to this, not fully paying off the stadium in 2002 also plays into my thinking that a fresh start would at least be worth consideration. Again, this obviously isn't realistic, and the only real chance of getting a new stadium is with new, ambitious owners.

People are terrified of empty seats because of what FOOTBALL AWAY DAYS BANTER LADS will say on Facebook, that's the only reason.

Aye - A few empty seats is the best and only way to accommodate those fans who can't say until the day of the match or even an hour or so before KO that they are free to go. The club could then easily set up the ability to buy tickets online on the day of the match to registered fans.
