I don't think our defensive woes are going to be sorted out in a few days, especially not on losing Evans. I think we need to stick to the formation we have and hope Rodgers is drilling them in training on how to react in various situations

Decent first half. Look great going forward but very poor at the back. Have little confidence for the weekend if we are defending like this. Need to keep going at these.

Against Watford? I think even us can finagle our way through those.

However, what exactly is the deal with Evans. Hope he'll be available for Sunday's game.

Good play so far, pleased with that. Barnes, Maddison and Daka playing well. Ndidi very unlucky. Our defence appears to have decided to make it as hard as possible for themselves though! Bit concerned with Castagne getting beaten again and again into our box down our right - he needs Soumaré to drop in and help him out.

On that note, I've liked the look of Soumaré in his early games, but I'm not sure what his role is here? He's not box-to-box, he's not tracking back enough to be a defensive midfielder, and he's not creating anything with those raking passes he showed previously. I envisaged him becoming a powerful, Yaya Toure-esque player...but what is he right now?

Not criticism, I'm just not sure what he's expected to do at the moment.

Oh my god, we’re over achieving again.

Savage actually said this in the first half. I was bracing for the reaction on here.

Barnes reminding us that pace is so important. Other than him and the threat he offers we have been still largely pedestrian.

Daka and Maddison took their goals very well. Some poor defence. Castagne looks vulnerable on 1 on 1s everytime. Soumare still looking laboured and goal aside, Ndidi has been poor.

Better than recent games with the pressing, which is great up to see, but need to be careful early doors second half. Get a 4th and more.

I would say you are conforming to the mean personally.  :D

I imagine Watford will be a lot better than these going forward.

Very iffy half from him.

Don't know what to make of the guy really.

He made a great run early on when we lost the ball and just bullied it back,  He is getting stuck in , few iffy moments just needs to be careful

I understand the urge to conserve a bit of energy but we can really build some confidence and goal difference by fvcking hammering these beyond all question.

Don't like that we're taking the foot off.

Would like to share in your optimistic view that we are doing so intentionally...

Enjoyed our forward play and especially Madders.

But our defence. Holy moly. They are so basic and they cut right through. So so fragile.
