Wasn’t clear given Fury was the original point of conversation and him turning down the nomination for British sports personality of the year. 
 

for info, the winner of last years British sports personality and overseas winner were both from sports which the bbc don’t televise. In fact there are few examples in the last few years where it applies

She was always going to win it, to be fair she’s a deserving winner. Her US open win is a massive achievement.

 

Fury should certainly of been in the top 3 but I don’t think he did himself any favours when he’s refused to attend it in the past.

Probably voted for by a load of mums or Middle Aged bbc people. Should 100% have been Tyson fury given he’s an actual personality and has openly overcome immense adversity to once again get to the top, a great inspiration to many. Likewise lewis Hamilton, a true British sporting great and iconic personality. England winning team of the year is an embarrassment, Southgate et al looked embarrassed on stage!!

Fury bitched last year about being nominated, reckoned he was already the people's champion, didn't need this to prove it. What he meant in reality was that he knew he wouldn't win because many people think he's a bellend, so he was covering his ego before he lost. He's so far up his own arse he can't face the fact he might not win a public popularity vote. He's a great sport man, and had he won it then fair enough, he just isn't as popular as he thinks he is. 

 

Raducanu achieved something that has never been achieved by any male or female in her sport, in the whole history of it. She started the year completely unknown and ended it in the world top 20, and grand slam champion and a household name. Your disrespect for what this young lady has achieved, who whilst not the most engaging speaker, seems nothing but a lovely pleasant person, is nothing more than I'd expect from someone who seems to hero worship a man like Fury.

Peaty was hard done by to be honest.

 

The guy is undefeated in about 7 years and is something to be very proud of.

 

Maybe being on Strictly and some of the backlash didn't help his cause.

He's never really done well in the vote until now, maybe strictly made a wider audience aware of him. He's not cocky too, despite his success, so I think that side will have helped.

As good and as dominant as Peaty has been, swimming doesn't exactly get the juices flowing in terms of excitement does it? Especially when your speciality is the breaststroke (the slowest and most pointless of all the swimming strokes).

Yeah, possibly, but his Mrs took a lot of flak on social media about the whole thing and he may have been painted in a bad light.
