Must've done too much..... :(

Was well known to have quite bad depression. Not that there could be a link.

Sad news.

Not many of that team still with us now :(

George Cohen: England World Cup winner and Fulham right-back dies, aged 83

Only Geoff Hurst and Bobby Charlton left now, I think, and Charlton is suffering from dementia. :S

Hurst always seems in good nick, so maybe he'll live long enough to see England win something again, having stuck around sufficient time to see another WC Final hat-trick?

Terry Paine and Ian Callaghan (who both made one appearance each in the group stage before Ramsey decided to go without wingers) are both still with us. As is George Eastham, who was in the squad but didn't play.

I can vaguely remember seeing Paine and Eastham play live, when I was a kid in the early 70s - along with Hurst, Moore, Banks & Jack (but not Bobby) Charlton. Paine clocked up a ridiculous number of appearances for Southampton.

I thought that I remembered Callaghan playing for Liverpool until the late 70s (only saw him on TV, not live) and just checked. He was a starter in the 1977 European Cup final and on the bench in 1978.....not bad for someone in the 1966 WC squad.

Callaghan holds the record for the longest gap between caps for an England international. Was bizarrely recalled in 1977 in his mid-thirties after not having featured since the '66 World Cup. The England set-up was a mess back then though (around the time of Revie).

Can't see Hurst living to be 278.

You think that the England football team will have won a major tournament by the year 2219? Have to at the very least commend you on your optimism.

Oh man that’s sad. My friend died in December and LOVED Insomnia.

My father in law died 6 weeks ago and it was his favourite song!

Hopefully they're all raving to it in a better place 🙏

Saw faithless live a couple of times. Incredible act.

I know many don't like dance music. But some absolute timeless classics, especially in the early days.

"Insomnia" is a bit special. I'm 67 yrs old and I love it. I listen to it and imagine the light show that goes with it.

And take in the words and the reason for them.

Seems bizarre that Terry Hall was younger than Maxi Jazz

Jet Black of The Stranglers was born before John Lennon, who in turn was born before Pele......it's a funny old game, Saint!
