Not that I want it, but I’d be all over this if we go for a possession based style next season, he’d be perfect for Brussel ball for example. 
 

Suffered an injury at Hull this season, but had an excellent loan spell at Swansea, which ended in him winning their Player of the Season award.

He's not on a free, still got two years left on his deal. Will go for £10m + add ons.

Isn't a Twitter transfer rumour but didn't want to start a new thread.

 

Weve shown serious interest in Chris Mepham again. 

 

Would be a free transfer. One to watch over the summer.

Would be a fairly smart free transfer given our need for, ideally, a couple of centre backs if we're able to have a clear out.

Would be more interested in Daniel Ballard of the two Sunderland centre backs personally, but it’s interesting that we appear to be monitoring the free agent market.

It’s about time we did.

We went for Chris a few years back. Bid was rejected then. 

 

Probably plays about 25 games for us should he come here.

Best we can hope for with Vesty is to loan him and pay some of his wages. I'm hoping his wages drop with relegation as he signed a new contract last summer.. but it is rudkin so even if that is the case he's probably still going to see 50k a month. He'd be happy to sit on that you'd think

Quick twitter search and Sunderland fans absolutely love him. Many label him the best CB in the league. 

 

Nelson & Mepham could potentially be quite something.

Really hope the uncertainty of who will be in charge doesn’t hurt deals like this. Seems all too sensible to actually come off for us. 
 

When’s the last time the club was genuinely savy, maybe the  Evan’s deal. 
 

We rarely tend to get these types of deals over the line
