Am I missing something? Granted I don't watch Watford but his record this season is 1 goal in 20 games.  Ok, that means he's already surpassed last seasons 1 goal and 3 assists but his stats alone are not screaming out £20mill for someone who plays as an attacking mid or winger.

Or is he another Bilal?

I’d assume that figure is down to length of contract he has with them

My mother supports Watford and I have to say, I’ve fallen in love with Giorgi Chakvetadze this season.

Adding more goals and assists is the only thing missing from his game. When it comes to ball-carrying ability he is an absolute joke, he is the best player in the Championship when it comes to that attribute.

Watford have been very smart in recent months, giving the likes of Chakvetadze, Baah and Pollock new contracts knowing full well they’ll be worth 15-20 million in a year or two if they develop like they have been doing.

You could see in the EUROs he looked like he had something about him. He got them up the pitch a lot against Portugal and looks like he was good defensively and tactically aware for a more offensive minded player.

Not sure how he'd fit in for us or if he should be a priority. Might be one you have to sign in fear of missing out on.

These two statistics just showcase how good he is for ball progression…

I think Watford will do exactly what they did with Joao Pedro and Asprilla. Try and hold off until the summer transfer window, then cash in on Chakvetadze for about £20 million if they don’t get promoted.

If we stay up and Watford fail to get promoted, he’ll be a strong candidate to replace Buonanotte.

Having a player that can carry the ball can be really effective when you're a side lower down bottom of the table, or one that spends a lot of time out of possession defending. Palace have always had a couple of players who were good at this during their time in the Premier League this time around and Wolves had it with Cunha in-form last season. Grealish at Villa was probably the best one in recent times.

It was also something we lacked in 22/23 - we had finishers (Vardy and Barnes), and creators (Maddison and Tielemans) but only really KDH and Castagne who could carry us up the pitch, and as a centre-midfielder and right-back, that's harder than a forward or a wide player to be in the positions to do so frequently. It meant that even when we tried to play on the counter, it was ineffective.

That's what we signed Soumare for. Still time :fc:

That’s been pretty evident recently too, especially from our wide options now Fatawu is out. I’ve felt in all of Ruud’s games in charge that we’ve lacked ball-carrying outlets, that can help relieve pressure and get us up the pitch.

Chakvetadze would give us that, but for sure we need someone of his ilk in January for the wings.

https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/giorgi-chakvetadze-development-amid-premier-league-interest-watford-fc/

Premier League trio Everton, Leicester City and Wolves are taking admiring glances at Watford's Giorgi Chakvetadze but are wary of the high price tag that the Hornets are planning to place upon him, Football League World can exclusively reveal.

The Georgian international has been in excellent form for Watford this season, and despite only signing a new deal at Vicarage Road in September, he could well attract interest from elsewhere in January.

However, with a contract until 2029, interested clubs can expect to fork out a hefty fee for Watford's main asset, and it's previously been reported by The Sun that the Hornets would demand £20million for the Georgian's signature.

Excellent scouting we meed a ball carrier in midfield. Give them hamza and mcateer and some cash in jan.

I think a lot will be made of the players available from man united.

Lindelof and Ericksen in particular would be great for us.

Rashford wants a new challenge…….

Don't shoot the messenger but I've heard from a source at Seagrave that we've made a bid for Marcus Rashford. I know... I know.. don't really trust him though last month he told me Potter was a done deal.

Oh so he knows nothing? Cheers for the heads up mate!

Even though he is hasn’t earned it, Rashford will go for over £50m…..

And to make matters worse, my mate who’s generally spot on with info says Forest are interested in him……

Rashford won't happen surely  from 2023 "England forward Marcus Rashford has signed a new deal to stay at Manchester United until 2028 worth £325,000 a week."

Even a loan for Rashford would likely be very expensive

You would think they would want most, probably all of his wages covered for the loan period which would be around £8m for half a season

There'd be plenty of Champions League / high prestige European clubs that'd take him on a loan.

Someone like Juve or a Milan club.

I can see Arsenal going in for Rashford. Martinelli's form has fell off a cliff and Sterling hasn't made any impact there.

I think that only happens if they can give Sterling back.

And with Mudryk getting a potential ban, that might happen!

Its got PSG all over it.

Was literally about to say the same thing. They'd match his wages, and domestically he's got to fancy bagging 20+ in that league

In a surprise to absolutely nobody,  Amorim is now declaring how important Rashford is going to be for them.

PSG finally got hold of some footage of him playing then
