Don’t disagree. did wonders for Barnes and KDH. A good loan spell at championship level can do wonders for confidence and helps to build them up in terms of the physicality of first team football.

Led to believe Alves is from the Groby area? Maybe we should just change our name to Charnwood borough fc? Hamza from Loughborough, KDH shepshed and Thomas syston. Must be something in the water in that part of the county.

As a Sileby lad, I'll field this one.

It's Mountsorrel Quarry. Gypsum in the water, ennit.

Please don't take this comment as anything other than playing devil's advocate, but....

Would it have been savvy to have lost this game?

For the record, my opinion is 'absolutely not'. I'm just interested in opinions.

Realistically, we have 2 shots ar Europe. This is one of them. We are in it to win it.

Gutted I missed this. Was really looking forward to it after last weeks postponement, especially as it was going to feature a number of the kids. Planned to take my son and daughter and sit in sk1 near UFS, they’d have loved it, especially my lad who’s really got into it over the last year, especially the chanting and getting involved in supporting the team.

Then I go and test positive for ****ing Covid yesterday. :(

Hopefully get to see some of these kids star for us again at some other point this season.

I really enjoyed that. Good game, the youngsters slotted right in.

I fear Claudio won’t be at Watford for much longer though. They looked lost.

Alex Fergusson used to say that winning was a habit that he wanted his teams to get into, and I'd like City to be like that. I'm still annoyed that we lost the League Cup quarterfinal against Liverpool reserves, but today was brilliant. Rodgers could have said "Just go out and enjoy yourselves but don't worry if you lose." Clearly no-one in the squad felt like that: well, apart from Perez, who didn't seem that interested.

And that was the motivation for posing the question. I totally agree.

@Ric Flairstill wanting to miss this game? haven't seen any of it, but from previous comments Choudary, Brunt and Albrighton did alright, had faith in Choudary and Albrighton to be that defensive steel as was predicted in my 2-1 pre match thread.

That was a most enjoyable watch. Seeing the young guy's play so well alongside the more established players made my heart sing. I think Brunt was the standout performance on his debut and showed a maturity and intelligence which can only point to a bright future.

I took my 7 YO today for her first game.

She hated it, asked to leave after 10 minutes and complained about being cold. Her favourite bits were the goal music and the lights going out! :D

Overall, I enjoyed the patch work team and it made for an interesting match. As good as Choudhury was, you wouldn’t want him playing in that position in a proper premier league game.

VDC was okay until he lost his head with that yellow. Definitely needed to be pulled, as was walking the line for a potential red. Slip or not, you could argue for a 2nd yellow.

Barnes was quite greedy in the first half.

Tielemans is just on another level though, we need him to sign a new contract. He does everything with ease.

It’s easy to say after a satisfying win but how impressive was the referee and VAR today ?

A guy who usually makes it all about him could easily have sent off Campbell but reflected on the circumstances and decided against.

Barnes goal never looked offside at first sight and wasn’t a clear and obvious error but VAR got the correct decision . Well done all round

Great win all told. I know Watford weren't particularly bothered by it but to see a patched up team of experienced heads and kids linking together so well was superb to watch. The youngsters, especially Brunt and Daley-Campbell in the first half, stepped up and the senior players seemed to relish their attitude and quality too.

Some excellent goals and a really good atmosphere that even the cretin sat behind me couldn't ruin. Fair play to all for the effort today.

It was very enjoyable. My comments about you not being able to pay me to go was because I've got covid and I was being facetious.

These last 2 games have been a breath of fresh air, siege mentality and players desperate to succeed. Long may it continue, I really hope we give it a crack to play these PL games, they're a credit to our club in attitude and that's all we can ask for right now.

Ah ok, I just read some of the negative comments generally at times, an wonder if some were worried, if your in the C boat, thats a service to others not to attend today. Good to see that Foxes fighting spirit return.

I know Watford are a bit chaotic but I loved how fluid that midfield and attack were today. I remember times before under Rodgers or previous regimes where we've been without our main striker/s and tried to do what the elite do with false 9's and all that shit and its never really worked but today it was very interchangeable and dare I say it, we really are an attacking threat this season.

I felt last season we were quite turgid but obviously we achieved a lot, where as this season we've been all over the place but going forward we are as ruthless and dangerous as ever.

Still gobsmacked at Hamza's display, if we could turn him in to a CB then it might be the find of the season. Early doors I know but he looks stronger than Soyuncu in that position right now.

Came here to write a similar thing, the front 3 of Barnes, Maddison and Lookman was brilliant. They were linking up really well and fluid in where they all popped up.

Only issue for Hamza will be diving into a challenge which he enjoys
