goose2010 Posted 11 February 2022 Posted 11 February 2022 Wouldn't be surprised if he has already agreed to go somewhere. Could see him joining the Barcelona revolution xavi is building 1
dannythefox Posted 11 February 2022 Posted 11 February 2022 Love to get ward prowse but he’d cost a fortune.

The club would've known and they should be at least two years into scouting a suitable replacement. The last thing we need is to be scrambling around for a player in the summer only to end up with Rodgers indulging in his Southampton fetish and bringing in some dross from the south coast. Great players have poor spells of form it happens. If no one fancies him, we will be a problem for us as we can’t max out on his transfer value. There’s plenty of time for the club to identify a replacement I don't know about that Cardiff Fox, Cambiasso was probably the best passer of the ball we've ever had, Drinkwater and Fuchs had the ability to play some superb through balls. Taking the rose tinted glasses off I'd say youri played about 60% of his games for us to his potential, 20% of those were 'wow' games. I wondered whether Youri suffered not having another decent ball playing midfielder playing with him at times, I think Brendan did also, which is why he tried to push Ndidi on. Youri is good enough for to play for a top 6 side with ambitions, but he isn't good enough for top 4 imo. I think he has problems keeping fit and motivated which is why he's better the more he plays
Popular Post Tielemans63 Posted 11 February 2022 Popular Post Posted 11 February 2022 I think those saying he's not good enough to play for one of the best sides are going to be proven wrong. 6

It really depends on his fitness and motivation. Don't tell me you didn't begin to doubt we'd signed the same player when he penned that contract, it took him an age to get up to speed, he gives the ball away a lot

Dames Posted 11 February 2022 Posted 11 February 2022 This has been on the cards for a while now. Inevitable really. Based on this season though we aren’t really going to miss him as we’ve already been missing him for 6 months. 3
daddylonglegs Posted 11 February 2022 Posted 11 February 2022 Real shame it’s going to end in such a stale manner. Bloke deserves better regardless of the levels he’s performed at in the last month or so.

Popular Post Buzzell Posted 11 February 2022 Popular Post Posted 11 February 2022 Confirming the inevitable. A wonderful, professional player that will always be a legend here after that FA Cup goal. He’s deserved the move to bigger club. To everybody saying he’s crap, give your heads a wobble. We all know that on his day Tielemans is one of the best midfielders in this league. All the best Starman. 10

North Leeds Fox Posted 11 February 2022 Posted 11 February 2022 Absolutely brilliant player for the club and wish him all the best. Really hope he gets his form back for the rest of the season. Good that there seems to be a load of clubs interested as that will raise the price and better to know now so we can plan accordingly. Hopefully someone like Gallagher or neuhaus would be class. Also if kdh and soumare need games, we now have a reasonable excuse to develop them for next season.
Tanya Posted 11 February 2022 Posted 11 February 2022 I'm sad it's come to this but we knew it was happening. I hope he goes overseas so I dont have to watch him tear it up at Man United.
Hamilton Fox Posted 11 February 2022 Posted 11 February 2022 We’ve known this for ages now, here’s hoping we get a good replacement and not back to pre tielemans of two awful passing midfielders trying create (Ndidi and Mendy)
Guest Kopfkino Posted 11 February 2022 Posted 11 February 2022 Thought he’d already gone Rankles with me that we couldn’t even get an extra year (rather than signing a new 4 or 5 year deal) to protect his value as had been rumoured last summer. It’s why I’ll never understand Maguire getting any stick, signed a contract and we ended up with a pretty sweet. Tielemans barely wanted to be here in the first place.
Mickyblueeyes Posted 11 February 2022 Posted 11 February 2022 He is a very good technical footballer. Lots of talent. Questionable mindset though. Struggled here when it got tough. Struggled in Monaco. That weakness may be better at a bigger club where he can hide behind talent to carry him when he has those moments. And Fab saying he’ll be professional - not really. He’s been anything but professional. We rebuilt after Mahrez and Kante who are both miles ahead of Tielemans. Hopefully we have plans in place to do the same this time. Thanks for the service Youri. I’d prefer if we allow KDH in the team for the remainder of the season with an eye for next season. Build for the future.
Legend_in_blue Posted 11 February 2022 Posted 11 February 2022 Scored the FA Cup winner and then downs tools. I'm not overly impressed and my final farewell will be muted. 1

There were a lot of rumours about Liverpool early on in the summer. Didn’t materialise because of the price given the extra year. There was always a bit of respect between the players and Vichai/Top in the past. Kante didn’t go for his release clause, Mahrez (despite his final tantrum) signed the extended contract and even came back after the fall out. Maguire signed the extension. All ensuring we got a good deal and so did they. We sometimes look at players through blue tinted glasses but the position we are in now with the form he has shown essentially suggest it isn’t the same respect/approach. Which is fair enough but we did just as much for Youri’s career as he did for our club.
Grebfromgrebland Posted 11 February 2022 Posted 11 February 2022 Are least it's official now and we can think about his replacement properly. Rumours are that we'll only get c. £35m for him, if true that's not enough to get 2 or 3 quality replacements in. It feels like the market has moved on. 1
Mike Oxlong Posted 11 February 2022 Posted 11 February 2022 I’m an optimist. Last game of the season he’s going to score the goal that keeps us up
Guest Chocolate Teapot Posted 11 February 2022 Posted 11 February 2022 Mad that it's broken this week despite happening several months ago. Almost like he's got the hump he's been dropped so his agent has leaked it. Great player but with his lack of pace genuinely not sure he's elite.
