It was a very Brendan Rodgers win from Bruno Lage I felt.

Largely underwhelming performance, saved by two pieces of individual excellence.

Wolves don't create many chances but they tend to convert them. We create plenty but yesterday was a poor day in front of goal.

Having just watched the highlights on lcfc, we were hard done by tbf. Lazy defending by Ndidi and a reckless header across goal from Amartey cost us. Why didn’t he just head it out and concede the corner.

To be fair, it's hardly surprising that our defenders will do anything to not give away a corner :D

How Wolves are where they are in the league is a mystery.  They were very poor yesterday.  Seriously cannot see them finishing top four but Europa league in 6th place is perhaps their aim?

We dominated that game and again VAR did us no favour.  Our 2 goals both ruled out by VAR at Brighton, when Barnes is supposedly in view of keeper and yet theres is allowed to stand when jimenes clearly offside yet not deemed to be in front of Kasper?  Never even bothered to look at the handball in the 1st half half either.

We are having one of those seasons, no luck, bad injuries to key players.  Sooner we get enough points to be safe and this season ends the better for me.

The answer is in that last word. Yesterday. It's the worst we've played for a few months.

We won every single game in January. We recently beat all of Brighton, Man Utd, Brentford and Spurs away, drew with Chelsea and we've only lost once in the last 8 games - Arsenal 0-1 at home which we didn't really deserve to lose to a scrappy goal.

In fact the only teams we've lost to since the International Break in November are Liverpool, Man City and Arsenal.

Yep totally agree. Best we've played and worst you've played for some time.

Definitely where you deserve to be in the league. Plus, we've benefitted from some ridiculous decisions/Adama Traore in the past few games against Wolves, we probably had yesterday coming.

Thought we were much better against West Ham than against Wolves.

That is easily the best option in away matches giving us four in midfield.

And yet our goal yesterday, for example, was an assist by Albrighton and scored by Lookman, both of whom wouldn't feature in this system. Not to mention losing the threat of Barnes.

Anyone who says this management lark is easy is wrong

That is baffling!

I know you won but I thought Wolves were crap

Whilst we have injuries 3 of our 4 defenders are decent and would grace many teams.

Big Dan whilst a bomb scare has had good games.

Coaching really is questionable

Hamza is the best thing since sliced bread as CB and lorded by Rodgers….he was promptly dropped!?

Clear that Daka or Iheanacho alone look lost and need support. Vardy in his 36th year also needs support but we don’t play 2 out of the 3

If we play wingers Lookman is our best left option and offers something defensively

Despite a great run last season Iheanacho was booted out for Barnes.

Harvey has had a poor season other than 2nd half against West Ham and against a poor Randers

injured twice, Covid twice hasn’t helped but still rarely plays a full game.

Is he really one of our best 11?

Had we gone 2-1 up when dominating the second half. , still don t we would have won . We pretty much lost every header in both boxes. I m sure we would have sat back and wolves would score from a cross or corner probably in injury time.

Why do people think Wolves were poor? Did they forget our title winning season? Possession doesnt define how well you win a game.

To me they had clinical intelligent attacks and were solid defending.

We had a lot of the ball, but the middle of the park is the least important area.

It is what it is. We played well, but scored one less goal than them - that’s how football goes. You can only define the effectiveness of a performance by the scoreline, ultimately.

I’m a bit peeved by the three players in offside positions for their second goal. The current offside rules make no sense to me.

We’re in a bit of a funk at the moment. When you’re out of form, things never go your way. All we can do is keep battling and at some point we will find our mojo again.

During the great escape season, we were consistently competitive but kept losing by fine margins…until we started winning again.

Apologies if this has been posted, but I think this clearly shows Jimenez was offside and interfering (just think of our game at Brighton earlier in the season…)

Annoying this lack of consistency

I blame us not closing out their shooters rather than ndidi and amartey tbh

I don't think i'm being too much of a drama queen to say that if that's at the other end, with our luck, is gets ruled out.

For me it's clearly offside.

I thought it was offside at the time and that's the best picture of it imho. Although, given so much room to strike. Someone should have been all over him.

The ‘interfering with play’ caveat is such nonsense because it involves so much subjectivity. In my view, if an attacking player is on the pitch, he’s interfering with play (unless he’s on the floor injured, maybe).

What was wrong with being either offside or onside? With VAR technology, there should never be a wrong decision - you just check the line!

Wolves were due a bit of VAR luck against us.

What is the ****ing point in VAR though. You still get the same inconsistencies as regular officiating, only now we have to wait 5 minutes for it. Brilliant.

Would be interesting to look at Barnes´s positions for the two chalk offs at Brighton compared to Wolves second goal yesterday.

Surely any player standing in the opposition´s penalty area any where in front of the Goal, is interfering with play?

If this was the standard interpretation , this would eradicate the VAR bollooks.

I know it never goes as you would like this game , for one thing the opposition won't let you. I think for a lot of games the diamond gives better defensive structure. I tend to think of Barnes and Lookman as strikers for the most part and not rigid wing players. Daka and Iheanacho work better with two up front. Barnes and Vardy have also been very effective as a strike pair.
