Thought we played with a false number nine the whole game.

It did feel like that didn't it.  That's one of the drawbacks with playing Nacho up front on his own. He constantly wants to drop deep and link the play, which is fine if you have midfielders going past him and making the runs in behind, but we didn't. We also have to move the ball far quicker too, it was so pedestrian and it made it easy for them to get back into their shape.

As we are so toothless without Vardy, a false 9 would be fine if the wide players did something useful. Felt it could have worked  starting Lookman over Marc (but obvious cost defensively) but then again as Barnes had an absolute shocker, support for Kel was absolutely terrible. Play Daka instead of Marc, again, defensive woes.

Speaking of defence, we looked good in that area. :D

Do you realise pretty much no team in world football worth anything plays two strikers. In a tight tense away European quarterfinal he's hardly going to play two uptop is he? Tonight we played an attacking 4231 I'm not sure how it's always Rodgers fault when we don't win. PSV defended very well and we should have taken one of our first half chances.

I never understand this argument

Does it mean that we can’t then?

Does it mean we’re doomed for ‘failure’ if we do? Because following the trend isn’t guaranteeing success

Whats wrong with doing something different?

Give the opposition something to think about/potentially have to change their own tactics at the last minute in order to counteract our two up front, especially at home in a knockout game

Its very uninspiring when we constantly set up to negate the opposition. Why not let them worry about what we can do rather than vice versa?

Not playing with two up front is merely a trend. There’ll come a time when some top managers start to do it again and everyone else will copy.

We weren't terrible, just didn't really do much. PSV clearly wanted the draw and executed that plan perfectly.

What was with the weird tannoy messages at the end?

Something like: "Leicester City fans, don't spoil it for everyone!" followed not long after by "PSV fans, thank you for attending!"

The safety officer Mr Paul Cook. Telling M1 they were all on camera.

So what you're saying in essence is that you know better than all the top coaches and teams in world football and plan to play two strikers. Ok great, so what system do we incorporate these two then? Do we lose the wingers presumably, so Barnes arguably our most dangerous player, and or Maddison I'm guessing too. You say you're sick of the argument but you're argument seems a bit odd. How were we set up to negate the opposition? We played 2 wide players a CAM, a striker and two fairly attacking central kids, with two attacking full backs.

What bothers me is playing a much weakend side against Palace and lose,  just to get stuffed at PSV on Thursday. It will have been all for nothing then. I hope not.

Can't see how it will be weakened.

Kasper

Thomas

Amartey

Soyuncu

Justin

Mendy

KDH or Youri

Maddison

Barnes

Lookman

Daka

That's 7 changes and still a side I'd hope can win at home to palace.

0-0 Just about the right result neither team created much apart from the Nacho miss and Barnes hitting the bar. They may attack more at home and leave space at the back which we should exploit more. Take the last round for them against Copenhagen they conceded 4 at home and I'm sure they are no better than us at attacking and defensively Copenhagen look poor defensively.

Meh.

Still all to play for, I wasn’t overly impressed with PSV, but we were pretty piss coming forward tonight.

I’d be more confident going to there place with a lead, but we need to drastically improve going forward otherwise it’s tara European football.

PSV didn’t impress me either. But Leicester played predictable football all night.

Could be worse, could be 2-1 down like Roma. Next Thursday we need Daka on with Nacho from the start, or bench Nacho and whack Lookman on instead.

Their forum hoped it could be won at our gaff, as they seem to have little hope back at theirs, so....  :dunno:

A lot of possession, tidy football. But didn’t once test their keeper. Strange subs trying to play a false 9. A much tougher task next week. Still in it but could’ve been a little bit easier.

Rubbish. Barnes hit the bar.

From the BBC report…

“And Leicester will have plenty of optimism going into next week's tie knowing PSV have lost nine out of their past 10 quarter-finals in Europe.”

They also have a cup final on the Sunday following our game vs Ajax which I believe is for a Europa League place, so will be interesting to see which game they prioritise.

Either way we shouldn’t be fearful going to theirs if we can put out our best 11.

A couple have mentioned that when you get this stage everything becomes ‘tighter’, both teams last night got to 65 and were worried about conceding a goal.

Watched the highlights last night - Bodo couldn’t have got two more fortunate goals against Roma. Football can be a bloody awkward game.
