Even if we see a better striker than him at the club, I can't see anyone matching the story and all the bollocks along with it. Will truly be one of the greats and will take a special player to reach anywhere near his legacy and with the way football is if we got someone to fit that mould they'd most likely be off to greener pastures

Sometimes I just watch him and think about the second hand stories I've heard of Channy, Rowley, Riley, Worthington, Weller and feel lucky to now be watching the greatest player in the history of the football club.

Not forgetting he won the goal of the season vs West Brom in 17/18. Always felt his Liverpool goal was better than Dele Alli's in 15/16 too

We owe so much to Pearson. Lesser managers would never have signed him

"He will definitely help to take us forward"  :pearson:

Biggest understatement since Martin Edwards said "this fellow up at Aberdeen might be worth a look".

My favourite ever City player by far.

A proper legend and what a signing by the trio… big Nige, Walshy and Shakey

I defy anyone to come up with a more important, value for money signing for City, ever?

And with that the goals I think of first for vardy are Boro away and the west brom goal lol

Sure, as a city fan.

I imagine his most iconic outside of the close fan base are his goals against Manchester United and Liverpool in the title winning season though.

Couldn't find a pic of him holding the corner flag there but it was one I looked for!

I was wrong. There I've said it. Probably the most significant misjudgement of a player.

Expecting/hoping for Maynard or Sharp and we got a scrawny kid in a hoodie who looked like he'd just come from signing on the dole rather than a £1M contract to be our new star striker. Massively underwhelmed.

Holy $hit has he been a star striker.

Absolute legend. Absolutely our 🐐

Sounds like Vards is off at the end of this season by that article.

Did you read it fully? It says he's got another year on his contract and intends to honour it?

Was a right goal. Turn, run, finish. It was the first time I genuinely believed “**** me this bloke has got something”. And that we were going up. All the talk was about Redknapp and QPR before that game too. Shut them right up.

I’m still convinced that the winner he got against West Brom was the turning point in the great escape season.

He and we, went mental when he ran in on goal and smacked it home. I remember us all feeling so dejected when we’d gone in at half time losing.
