Leicester enquire into £50m-rated Brighton goalkeeper Robert Sanchez due to Kasper Schmeichel doubts

Kasper Schmeichel will return to Leicester's team on Thursday but is facing an uncertain future this summer.

Schmeichel is set to replace Wales international Danny Ward in goal against Chelsea ahead of talks over his contract situation later this month.

The Dane has just over 12 months remaining on his Leicester deal and admitted earlier this year that he may pursue a new challenge next season, with the ambition of playing abroad before he retires.

While Brendan Rodgers is relaxed about the situation, Leicester are considering moves for a new goalkeeper this summer and have enquired about Brighton's Spain international Robert Sanchez, though he could cost around £50 million.

Schmeichel is poised to hold talks with Rodgers in the next few weeks, and the Leicester manager admits there are no guarantees that Sunday's game against Southampton will be a farewell.

Would definitely take him but only for about half of that at most - keepers don't go for that much unless they are proper top level or someone is stupid (Chelsea)

I like him and would have him here for sure, proven himself in the prem.

not a chance we’d pay anymore than 25m in my opinion if that.

Don't know what to make of this, our recruitment according to the press is somewhat different to what I'd expect it to be this summer.

Sounds like they want someone who will command the area and come off his line when needed. By all accounts, Iversen is very similar to Kasper, so doesn’t fit that mould. Exceptional shot stopper, I’ve heard.

Would rather Nick Pope and could be looking for a move if Burnley let get relegated

Which other links are you referring to?

This is a reliable link with it being Percy. Not seen many others.

He distributes the ball like he’s got flippers on, no thanks

Very good keeper, but doesn't make sense, when we've got someone in Iversen who would be free and has done everything we would have hoped during his development.

Sanchez is quality in his distribution too from what I've seen.
