NewquayFox Posted 22 May 2022 Posted 22 May 2022 (edited) Wether there are on the pitch, on the bench or in the stand… Kasper Ward Jakupovic Castagne Soyuncu Thomas (season long loan Championship) Vestergaard Bertrand Choudhury Mendy Soumare (seasons long loan France/Spain) Tielemans Albrighton Lookman Perez Iheanacho Obviously all of the above won’t go but at least half possibly could, decent team though, can only play 1 keeper… Edited 22 May 2022 by NewquayFox

The rest stay IMO. I guess the Southampton two are also expendable, but personally doubt either will leave this summer. Edited 22 May 2022 by FoxesWalk 1

Reginaldo Posted 22 May 2022 Posted 22 May 2022 There’s just two signed shirts in the shop - Youri and Kelechi. Saying that they’re not discounted yet…
Haywood_6 Posted 22 May 2022 Posted 22 May 2022 Hahaha that's a long list of players possibly slinging their hook. We need to keep at least 4/5 realistically. Castagne, Lookman, Soumare, Albrighton and Thomas. 2

But the rest is enough to fund the refresh IMO. Here's hoping... 1
Sir Shep Posted 22 May 2022 Posted 22 May 2022 Someone will be in for Maddison, not saying we will sell but at the very least he will get linked in a move away that'll get pushed by the London media. 2

Said the same to my lads, also think someone will sniff around for Fofana as well, we won’t sell those 2…. 1
LCCFox96 Posted 22 May 2022 Posted 22 May 2022 Well if that was to be Perez's final outing for us, at least he went out with a bit of a bang. Good cameo today. 2

He seems a different player this season, gets stuck in and both of his goals today were excellent finishes, plays well as the 2nd striker but was always played on the right wing, maybe Rodgers will keep him if he still has a year or more on his contract..

He was arguably Newcastle's best player when we signed him (hence the fee which brought a lot of unnecessary hate). I hope he gets a move to a side where he can shine, he'll bear no ill will from me. 2
Marshall Cockney Fox Posted 22 May 2022 Posted 22 May 2022 We definitely need a clear out to afford space for fresh blood. However recent history has shown that moving on well paid average footballers is quiet a talent indeed.

I think Perez is a victim of his own contractual circumstances to an extent. I don't think he warrants another 3-4 year deal on performance consistency, and this would also negate all resale value as he'll be 32-odd by the time that deal ends. He's also likely to be on a decent wage given he came from another PL side and was signed for decent money. On the flip side to that he wouldn't accept a shorter term deal. He's a good solid squad player, but someone who we have a bit of a 'now or never' dilemma with in terms of getting a fee for him. If we can recoup £10mil or so for him - which I think is fair as he is a tidy enough player - then we should probably look to do so. As you say at that price he'll be a good signing for someone, and a performance like today will have done him no harm in attracting suitors. I can see him going back to Spain to play in La Liga - something he has never done - and think he'd be great option for a Spanish side like Real Betis, Villarreal, or Real Sociedad.

Really think Thomas has the potential to be a Sergi Roberto-type player for us, would be sad to see him leave even on loan. Same goes for Choudhury, but he hasn’t shown his best to Big Man Brodgers.
