Ending his career trying to fill the big shoes of Ahmed Musa lol

Sad but true that he has become a cancer at club level, but his every action has served to make serious clubs aware of the fact.

edit: just saw the terms reported as £172M for two seasons.  On the one hand, what an execrable mercenary.  On the other, I'd take that, and worry about my legacy ... rarely if ever.

The LIV golf model announces its arrival in football?  Take unlimited money, start with the biggest names who are no longer competitive at the highest level, and see how much havoc you can create?

This looks like the end of MLS being the preferred destination for retirement tours  :S  Messi to Saudi next?

Definitely been to the benefit of football in America that it's no longer being seen as a place for people past their prime, loads of great young South Americans seem to be heading up which'll be much more beneficial in the long run for the league over watching some bloke in his 40s who doesn't care plod about.

Agreed, the MLS are desperate not to be seen as a retirement league.  They seemed obsessed with big names a decade ago but seem much more content on bringing home grown stars up through the ranks.  Which is also great for the National side.  Plus they'll always attract the odd star there anyway.

Make no mistake, if a team in MLS could have afforded him, the would have went after him

They have a salary cap of around 5mill per team.

There is the “Beckham” rule which allows them to pay an international superstar more, but I don’t believe it equates to $200mill more a season

New Club World Cup beginning in 2025.

32 teams. European teams usually enter at a later stage, but where in the calendar will they fit it?

How have we come to this? Even the more chilled and mellowed Aussies at it now. There is no respect for anything anymore only for our own needs. It saddens me and its not only a football thing.
