To be fair, they won all their games and lost out to red hot Norway, who themselves had been underwhelming for a good ten years or more.
MPH Posted 31 March Posted 31 March I think that’s 3 world cups in a row that Italy has missed out on… that’s not good…

All in the play-offs I think too? Graham Potter gets the chance to manage at a world cup - makes it two English managers at the World cup alongside Darren Bazeley. Bet he wasn't thinking that a few months ago. Sure the organisers and TV people cannot wait to big up a group with Qatar, Canada, Bosnia and Switzerland in. Edited 31 March by Super_horns 1

Only one win in that time (didn’t win in 2010 & beat England in 2014 of course) and now no World cup appearance in 12 years. They’ve made 2 euros finals winning 1 in that time though. Just utterly mental To be fair, I would trade qualifying for every competition and winning fook all if it meant winning the world cup or euros and not making them for decade or more lol.
MC Prussian Posted 1 April Posted 1 April And Iraq go West, too! 2-1 against Bolivia. Congrats! Iran (should they actually participate) and Iraq at the same World Cup, playing the majority of their group games in the US. And Iran are scheduled to play against Egypt in their group.
CWC1983 Posted 1 April Posted 1 April Liked Evertons stadium, but a fair walk away from the city centre. Starting to get fed up with modern fans, people around me constantly shouting at the players, booing at half time. It's a friendly ffs. Ivory Coast were a good side, plenty of skillfull players with pace.

The problem is, the more fans are charged through the nose and treated like customers, the more people are going to feel entitled to let their feelings known loudly. Part of the problem of modern football. 7
goose2010 Posted 1 April Posted 1 April I imagine Iran's spot will go to the highest bidder..... my guess is Israel

The second we got good ofc they were gonna monetise us, much like many successful clubs have historically done. Anyway the next general sale starts today at 4pm, I will see what crops up. Still awaiting the right time in the market to flog my USA v Paraguay tickets
Super_horns Posted 1 April Posted 1 April I think fans have become more entitled and angry because the relationship between them and the club/players is much more distant than it ever used to be in the past . Clubs treat fans like customers with some distain occasionally and players are really in a different universe now lifestyle and pay wise at the top level .
