I think that is where Rodgers sees the problem and cannot see in any way that it will ever improve. Nacho can look an absolute stellar forward when on his game but too often the first touch lets him down, and he fails to hold on to the ball long enough for the support to get there and to help relieve the pressure on our backline.

If Slimani has taught us anything it's that we're destined to sign Dzeko and end up literally subbing him off at the same time as bringing Albrighton on or visa versa and then wondering why he never scores.

This is way down the list of our priorities so I can't see it but if we'd had a Dzeko or Mandzukic type last season I think we probably finish 7th because we covert a couple of draws into wins and a few losses into draws.

Wouldn't be a bad option for a year at all. You aren't tied down to a long term deal and he's objectively still very good. 17 goals and 10 assists last season for Inter. Scored goals wherever he's gone. Frankly a very underrated player. Experienced winner.

 

There are other more pressing matters in the squad and given we need players out it's a bit of a non-starter but I'm surprised at some of the negativity about him. He's a good player and still got something to give.

This was my first thought. 
 

Dzeko is actually better on the floor than people give him credit for. He’s a capable

forward but I’m not sure he’s the player we need.

I watched a lot of him playing laying last season, he has one thing are other forwards don’t have ( not including vardy ) great ball control holes the play up and is excellent in the air , he would be a BIG ASSET for us .
