Transfer funds

Recommended Posts

Club favouring other investments? I’m not sure the ins and outs of where funds are allocated, but 100 million has just been spent on the new training ground. And the likely commitment of a stadium expansion.
Could anyone expand on whether those funds could have been allocated to transfers?

1. Extended contracts.

2. Relieving Southampton of their deadwood last summer.

3. Employing Congerton.

4. Failing to take up a Champions League spot two seasons on the trot.

A combination of all of the above, plus many more reasons I have not thought of.

So overall the planning and management are shambolic. Rudkin is known to be a pretty poor negotiator. Not sure who was responsible for last year's Southampton dross. No proper recruitment team. Not sure where Rodgers is in this mess

Time for Top to intervene

Wage bill is unsustainable at it's current level, especially with no income from European football so need to reduce it by offloading players. Top/KP have been providing financial support to the club for general operations  (30m&40m working capital loans over the last two years) but that doesn't all find it's way into the transfer kitty if our revenue can't support our operating costs etc.

New Brazilian wonderkid?

Sounds more like a Dutch wonderkid with that name. Dirk Clappers, the new Cruyff, straight out of the Ajax academy....

We didn’t sell anyone last summer

we havent sold anyone yet this summer

we dont have a sugar daddy like villa do.  Our squad is deeper than theirs,  West Ham and Everton

we’re suffering from the trend for players to see it their contracts. This will happen to all clubs and affect the non big six more.

We have money.

We have too many players outside the 25 man squad we need to shift first.

Our revenue and wage bill are almost the same. I believe your wage bill can't overspend the revenue?

When we move people on, we will sign players

Simple isn’t it

We do. But what we don't have is the space for wages.

We are running a wage bill that equates to 90% of our turnover, we have a squad of about 27, that means players sat in the stand earning for doing nothing. No one wants those players because we pay, average players, or minor contributions to well.

Until we shift 3 or 4, we don't have room to put even a couple of players in the squad because then you have 4  players say in the stand earning for offering nothing.

Fact is until we move bodies, be that on loan again or permanent or maybe even letting a few leave for free. We can't justify signing players, not for lack of funds but because pur wage and bloated squad has backed us into a corner.

Would be massive bonus if Bertrand is broke and insurance pays him off, probably don't need wilf, mendy, hamza and soumare so 1 or 2 of those need to go, wouldn't hurt shifting cags on and knowing what yorui plans to do, then you will see a couple of incomings.
