I realise that fan forums are pretty negative at the best of times, however I've just been reading the Arsenal forums and they are overwhelmingly negative about Leno, don't think I read one positive comment. From what I've read, if your main gripe with Kasper was that he wasn't great with his feet then you'll be very disappointed with Leno, useless with his feet. They also seem to think we've left it too late as he's virtually already joined Fulham and wants to stay in London.

Hoping we've missed out to be honest, he's always struck me as a massively overrated player

I don't see Leno happening. It'd be an expensive kicking of the can down the road. No, bite the bullet now. It looks like project refresh is not happening this season so we instead do some ground work. We're not ManU nor Chelsea, we can't buy our way forward on a whim - and seemingly particular not at the moment, our funds not looking fluid.

A bit like Kasper I don’t see leno being on what he’s currently on at his next club so I wouldn’t base signing him or not on his weekly wage, I personally think he’s a decent sweeper keeper, very quick off his line and like Kasper very good in 1v1 situations…. Unfortunately has similar downsides as Kasper when it comes to dealing with crosses and distribution

He's a very good shot stopper but is partial to an absolute brain fart. Distribution is shocking as well, pass.

All bad errors bar the first one, bobbles happen.

Probably not as bad as people think. Just didn't settle at Arsenal and once people get on your back it's difficult to shift the reputation.

I think a clean break would be needed for him rather than another Premier League move. Plus I don't think he'd accept a drastic wage cut. It's a no from me. I'm much more excited about this Lafont chap.

Pope went for £10m FFS

Can't believe we've left such a critical position to this point in pre-season.

Now if we are bringing in Leno as an experienced backup and mentor to Iversen/Stolarcxyk or however you spell that then I’d maybe be okay with this

...those keepers are never going to be good enough!!!

A #2 keeper is very much a lame duck, he will not get the games to keep him sharp or end up in the leading role.

No chance for me, purely because it defeats the entire object of moving Schmeichel on i.e. clearing some space in the wage bill to bring in additional players. This lad would surely want upwards of £100k a week.
