If the media get their way and sell all our star players, here's our starting 11.

Iversen, Amartey, Soyuncu, vestergaard, hamza, mendy, soumare, Albrighton, Perez, Daka, Iheanacho.

should be good enough to beat  Brentford:thumbup:

Weirdly i'd still back that team to beat Brentford.

It is all the u21s on the bench! Alves for the winner (a worldie, so Frank could have his moan.)

Shit, I know it’s been a tough summer recruitment wise, but surely we can do better than giving the gloves to Amartey!!

Great for Newcastle/Man U but who scores for us

"so if you're just joining us Leicester are leading Brentford 3-0 and Jannik vestergaard is on a hat-trick "

You can't underestimate a collective group who are focused on their goal. They have that and we certainly don't. I'm not sure I'd make us favourites just because we're better on paper.

I don't remember ever being less excited for the start of a new season

How old are you? Starting a season with Rob Kelly in the bottom third of the championship is definitely less exciting than this lol

33. Maybe that was the optimism of youth lol

To be honest I posted towards the back end of last season that football just isn't doing it for me lately so it's not just a reaction based on this summer window. Hoping the buzz returns

Weaker goalkeeper, but stronger defence with Castagne, Fofana, Evans and Justin as a back 4 hopefully. Add in KDH too and if anything it's stronger overall.

Agreed!

I imagine a lot of our better players also are feeling the same way.. could get nasty for Brendan Rodgers behind the scenes.

Really don’t think it will affect us that much on that score. Rodgers didn’t sell Schmeichel. He wanted to leave. Kasper is notoriously a loud voice behind the scenes, if he’s not on board, it’s better he’s out of the environment.

Heard very mixed reviews on how he is as an actual bloke but Schmeichel doesn’t suffer fools gladly.

I haven’t seen anything on our pre season to suggest we aren’t united. If anything all this speculation seems to have developed some siege mentality amongst the squad

I remember being really pumped for the season in the early ‘000s when we were starting against Bolton and got horrendously dicked . My excitement disappeared and trepidation grew right there

Really oh shit typical

Yes “pre season friendly “ in Spanish translates as “ get out there and maim as many opposition players as possible in 90 minutes”

I think Amartey would probably come in before Cags (not that I agree with that, but just what I think BR would do)

I think Fofana will start anyway to give the "nothing to see here" impression.

If Fofana goes this window or next then Cags will be our new *future* so I think Brendan will be inclined to put his eggs in that basket even if somewhat reluctantly
