To all those who complained at people being upset at us finishing 8th..

And how about this exact same thing happening almost every year for the last 5/6 years, including when we finished 5th twice? In fact, last year was the only year in our "recent post PL win" history where we didn't sell a key player.

Well, now we are experiencing a massive major side effect of having no European football.. top players are leaving and the vultures are circling for the rest…

I blame Fernando Nino!!!

you can’t deny it…. Not finishing in  a European place is going to cost us.

Sure it will, there's always a cost. Like not finishing in a CL spot also cost us. It's not as dire as some are making out though. We at least have quality, sellable assets in our current squad. If we choose to, we can raise massive capital to reinvest in the squad. It's up to the board and management.

It was the two occasions that we snatched defeat from the jaws of CL qualification victory that have cost us.  We would be in a completely different position if we had just managed to limp over the line

I think that 8th last season wasn't bad considering we spent the entire season with an injury crisis.

On the plus side, no Europe next year might be a positive for us, to give us a break from the treadmill of twice weekly matched and ironically, help us to qualify for Europe next year.

I know this is a big ask but can we not attack each other and instead sit back and try to enjoy the start of the season and the exciting transfer window? Hmm?

Another excellent thread on Foxes Talk.
Posted when we haven’t actually sold any ‘top players’ and before the season’s actually started.

Good work that

It epitomises FT that this is a hot topic.

How can you look forward to a season when you have so much depressing news coming from the club?.. Even BR admits we will have to sell assets if we can't shift the deadwood

100% yes. Look at some of the teams in the conference league, some great potential fun trips missed out on. Now it’s just palace away 💤

I mentioned this a few weeks back.

People seem to use Europe as a reason for us struggling, at the same time it’s what the aim is.

I get “putting a positive spin on it” but when we treat the opportunities and talk about it with such contempt then what’s the point?

Going off topic a little bit, I was hoping one of the benefits of no European football would be more Saturday 3pm’s but many of our games have been moved already :rolleyes:lol

Yeah. I know. It’s mild sarcasm. But still. Let’s not count our chickens cracked before we crack them? That’s right, isn’t it? That’s the right phrase? We’ve got a brilliant squad at the moment. You could be pining for this preseason by the time the football starts. Anyway, let’s not call each other *****. I think that was my point.

Why can’t some fans seem to fathom that this is the inevitable.

We did well to finish 5th twice, it’s extremely difficult to maintain that in a league dominated by six teams.

West Ham were the fortunate ones to finish 7th, if they end up falling out the European places bracket, then they’ll probably end up kissing goodbye to the likes of Rice & Bowen.

No European football comes with consequences, consequences that we’re used to seeing by now, I for one have accepted that fate.

Makes sense but you really do need to change that bloody picture!
