.. what Rodgers could have done is insisted he played!!!

Rodgers has pampered Tielemans and this club needs a strong leader, and that does not come from Rodgers.

His (Rodgers)mentality is mirrored by the team, having empathy is all very well, but unless you show some kind of strength, the matter could get out of hand and be perceived as weakness.

Spot on!👍🏻👍🏻

I've been watching Leicester for over 50 years and I've been seriously considering making this my last season of attending games. I have no issues with the club but the way that everything is geared to ensuring the perceived 'Big' clubs get richer makes me sick.

Three weeks ago Little Wes was my favourite player but now I'd like to see him rot in the u23's.

Chelsea have behaved terribly in unsettling our player but will go unpunished.

Little Wes has shown a total lack of respect to the club and fans. Anyone employed in a normal job would have seen their pay reduced  if they are unable to work for an extended period. In his case he was given a much improved contract!

The most annoying thing of all is that if he does move to Chelsea the club will have to pay him an obscene loyalty bonus because he has not put in a formal transfer request. When he gets that everyone should realise that we, the fans, will have paid for that through ticket purchases, Sky subscriptions etc

That's the system though right? It's all about the big clubs. They get their pick of the litter from the rest of the league because they can pay more. The other clubs get their scraps if they choose to unload them. Only players a LCFC is getting off one of them is someone they don't want or someone unproven or the odd mistake in judgement.  In US sports the salary cap equalizes things and the league as a whole gets stronger because there's more total interest.  NBA and NFL work on those models.  If your team has crappy managment like Manu you pay the price becuase your team stinks for a long, long time.  EPL and rest of Euro leagues at this point in time so no value in changing, which is unfortunate.

Sorry, I’m not being glib, but I genuinely don’t get what you’re going on about here.

So Rodgers should’ve played Fofana when his head’s clearly not at it 100%? Yet Rodgers has also done the wrong thing in playing Tielemans when his head’s clearly not at it 100%?

I want a change in management too, but you’re clearly just picking whichever side Rodgers didn’t do to beat him with here.

To the Saint Etienne fans: Since you don't pronounce the `h` at the start of words in your language, instead of "ha ha ha ha", are you in fact saying "a a a a". Weird.

...how long has Tielemans head being messed up, it has been a long time since all this talk about Arsenal!!!

His performances have been sub par for a long time, Rodgers has inconsistencies in the way he handles his players.

But you’re saying he should’ve insisted Fofana plays? Then slating him for playing Tielemans?

If you’re think he’s wrong in playing Tielemans (and I wanted to see Tielemans dropped many times last season too), why the hell are you insisting Fofana should play when he’s done much worse?

I think he should’ve dropped both Fofana and Tielemans for the record, but you’re clearly just picking whichever side Rodgers didn’t do to beat him with, there’s plenty of criticism that can be aimed at Rodgers, but that’s just silliness.

I would leave him with them for the next 6 months just to ensure he doesn't go to the world cup.

Regardless of what happens now he will have lost all the trust of the fans and his team mates alike.

You don’t know he’s gone unpunished. Just like when I was docked pay for skiving off work for a week, my employer didn’t give interviews to the local paper about it.

I get the wholesale disillusionment though. I’m exactly the same. It’s not me leaving the club, I feel it is running away from me and Rodgers’ tactics and style are the final straw. I’m at the stage where I couldn’t care less about the Fofana situation.

It's here where our recruitment strategy over the last few years has shown it's faults. Go back six years and you know that Morgan, Huth, Waz, even Fuchs, would have set him straight so he showed up and trained on time.

But I'm not sure you can blame Rodgers on his handling of this situation. He has tried to protect Fofana first off, with his "head isn't in the right place" and so I'm not playing him against Southampton comments. It's trying to protect Fofana and give him a way back until a deal is concluded either this summer or next.

Unfortunately, the ungrateful player has thrown it all back in Brendan's face by refusing to remain professional and not turning up to training. So the manager's no longer protecting him. I'm not sure I would have done different.

I agree with you, my brother.

Absolutely. Even Praet has received poor management and behaviour from Rodgers. He hasn't been consistent at all.

I’m not sure about this. Every players circumstances will be different.

And we need to up the transfer kitty.

All I know is it makes no sense for the club at present to have a 70mill player languishing in the reserves to ‘make a point’.

We ARE in a trepidatious position and need to offload a player who clearly doesn’t want to be here and to be bolstering the squad with players who are up for the fight.

In my mind, we are in a fight and need players who want it.

I wouldn't worry about that.  You can look at it the other way too.  It makes no sense for Fofana to spend the next five years in the U23s.  As soon as the window closes, he will a choice: continue to be an arse or get his head straight and play, try to get into the French World Cup side and get that big move next year.

Seems like a no brainer to me.

Ffs just let him go now.
It seems like the rumours WERE right, he is being a pain in the arris and there is no point having a 70mill player in the reserves.

The club need to pull their fingers out their bottoms, sell him on and get a good CB replacement in ASAP.

What the fook is the club doing at the moment!

70 mill can buy a decent player(s) with change left over, who might actually want to be here

Rant over…

Your summary Seems like common sense to me but then with todays football and the obscene financial aspect with players wages etc that aspect seems to have gone out the window.

If Fofana doesn’t go to Chelsea - and it seems clear that he won’t unless they pay us a proper fee - I’m not sure how he comes back from this.

I’d say the only way is for him to issue a public apology to Leicester fans about his behaviour, acknowledge what the club has done for him, and promise to knuckle down and give his all for the team again.

But unless his teammates get together and give him a good kick up the proverbial (rather than one of those effete pre-match hugs), that would seem a long way off at the moment.

Such a crap situation for the club and unless we call Chelsea's bluff and they finally stilump up a fair fee  I don't see us winning this one.

Either we fold and sell him for lower than our valuation or we don't and hope that he screws the nut once he realises he's not getting his move.

Or he doesn't, continues to spit the dummy out and we banish him to the u23's where his value will keep decreasing and we will likely end up with a smaller fee than that we we offered in the next window. Meanwhile we have to play Amartey or Vestegaard because Rodgers for one reason or another doesn't seem keen on playing Soyuncu.

I think we hold all the cards here, if he wants to play in the world cup he has to play and has to play well. Can't afford to spit the dummy and not play.

If he doesn't go to Chelsea the club will be prepping him and putting in front of a reporter to do an exclusive interview and claw back some good PR. He'll come across as a young guy who acted rashly because he wanted to follow his hero Drogba to Chelsea but admit that he has to knuckle down to be the best player he can be for Leicester City.

Yes the PR people will make him look like Saint Wesley.

Good point - it could be a big challenge for Rodgers. i think fans have a part to play - if he does stay, we have to move on and not isolate/boo him - and then hope the coaching team and colleagues can get him back to enjoying his time here.

A bit like pacifying a spoilt child in effect.
