  1. 1. How should the club handle it?

    • Sell for what Chelsea are offering, and get rid ASAP and move on.

    • Hold out for our asking price (looks to be 85million) and risk not selling him.

    • Don't sell at all, it's too late in the window and Chelsea and the player are taking the piss.

we hold out and if a complaint for tapping up hasn’t gone in, it damn well should.

How is it fair that we’ve lost a player for 3 games when they aren’t even coming close to his valuation. This should have been a quick phone call, we told them the price it’s that or do one… we publicly said he’s not for sale and yet they’ve been able to keep pressuring.

If chelsea left us alone, we probably would have gotten a result against southampton

...he was obviously up for sale should they have offered a decent price!!!

We should have set a price of £120m, if we felt no pressure to sell, and insists that we would entertain talks around that price. It would have given us leeway to come down and they would have started at a much higher amount. The price on Declan Rice is believed to be £150m, there is room to negotiate from there, without being blatantly lowballed.

Finding this a bit boring have they offered £70 mill and we want £85 mill there is a simple solution. If he is being a mardy arse and he wants his dream move and all the other bollox make it clear as it is not about the money that he will sacrifice the 200k a week and try and scrape by on 140k a week and the £15 mill saving Chelsea can use to up the offer. If he is that good a player Chelsea will offer him a better contract on more money

Realistically what we should do as a club is publicly come out and say what the price is, and for no one to bother if its less than that.  That halts the love in and constant garbage from the media, and let's everyone know where they stand.

Just come and say, "Chelsea, if you want Fofana, it's xx million up front". If you don't want to pay that, stop wasting everyone's time.

Don't sell at all if Chelsea are not prepared to pay at least 80m. That value is a reflection of his ability plus how late it is in the window plus how long his contract is.

Bloke has just signed a 5 year deal.

If Chelsea really want him they will by now know how much it will take and will pay it. For now though, they are playing games more to disrupt the start to the season of a side they may perceive as a potential rival to the established order. In particular, one who they have to play while the window is open at the start of the season and whom it benefits them to weaken.

Hold out for asking price. We hold the leverage here.

Selling him wouldn’t really fix our FFP wage woes this summer. A replacement (or 2) might be on similar wages.

Plus, clubs go through this every summer. Eventually the players gets over it and decides to play.

Correct. So it's a good job our woes are nothing to do with FFP. It's simply squad capacity.

Hold out for price or he gets dealt with like mahrez. Play and shut the eff up. Dont play, no wage.

Also, a headbutt is a minimum for being an absolute  t w a t.

As petty as it sounds hold out for what we want, if they don't want to pay that we keep him and leave him in the under 23s for the foreseen future, proper cutting our nose of to spite our face tactics but f**k him, he's gambled by throwing strops and silly little hijinks, you've made your bed pal, enjoy watching the world cup on telly

I am reviewing the situation, can fellow be a villain all his life?

He wants to move to Chelsea, not Villa.

Losing him would severely weaken an already leaky defence. You have to hope with the window over Wesley finds the motivation to show his talents on the pitch again, keep the interest high because LCFC are willing and able to do business for these players but just on our terms.

Signing a five year contract here you would expect him to respect our growth model and play along. If Chelsea won't pay what he's worth to us, we shouldn't sell him.

We’re gunna end up stuck with him what a waste all for the sake of a few mill, we’re ****ed if Chelsea back out now

Relax we're not f***ed....he's still worth 100m+........in future in wants to end up at Real Madrid and if we sell him cheap Chelsea will use him for  2 years and sell him to Madrid for 150m+.

That's why we should sell him with a 50% sell-on clause

“Stuck” with a World Class talent for 5 years? Not the worst thing in the world…

Combination of 2 & 4. Hold out for 85 mill and give him a Pearson style headbutt whether he stays or goes.

As he has been banished to train with the development squad, should he not be paid at their rates, not premiership

Would have took the £70 million, we have a player, that does not want to play for us, plus we need to fund income players

Spot on imo

Chelsea are willing to pay £60m for Gordon, have paid £62m for Cucurella

Both those players aren't even on the same level of talent/ potential that Fofana is on.

We should easily be able to get over £80m for him from Chelsea. In no world is Fofana just 10m more than Gordon or 8m more than Cucurella
