Did he get a bad injury or was he dropped or was he played up front? Only played 805mins in the league over the past 12 months, that's less than 9 games in total.

Not sure what to make of those awful pressing or tackling stats and those crazy high shooting and assist stats either haha, seems really weird for a centre back, as though he's been playing in a different position(?). Decent enough 7/10 in the air at least.

We won’t be getting a new GK. And unless we sell 2 more we won’t be getting four players through the door. Our squad is too big as it is..

Out of the defenders linked, this one makes the most sense.

 

Losing Fofana would mean losing his progressive ability, especially in terms of ball carrying. Bade & Fofana average around 5.00-6.00 progressive carries per90, more than some defenders that have been linked, Lacroix for example.

 

I think that’s a big reason why Rodgers keeps persisting with Amartey. I saw a stat earlier saying he made the 2nd most carries in the Prem at the weekend, you also look at his passing stats, his passing percentage was the highest of our centre backs last season, a lot of sideways & backward passes probably count towards that, his long passing ability though was at 80%, compared with Evans & Soyuncu at 58%.

 

Don’t get the wrong idea that I’m fawning over Big Dan, but if you weigh certain things up, I can understand why Rodgers is currently persisting with him, especially with Fofana not playing the last two games and on the brink of being sold.

 

As I said on here at the weekend, ideally we need to find a progressive defender, someone who can carry the ball up the pitch, someone who fits the mould like Fofana and someone who isn’t clumsy like Big Dan.

 

Loic Bade could well be that guy.
