His last great season was probably 18/19

Been a steep decline since then, at least for his defensive abilities. Reckon he could do a job as an Albrighton-esque versatile player, play out wide, here and there as wingback

This Romano guy is usually pretty well equipped and well connected with agents etc. I am not saying that all of the rumours are true, but i would be surprised if he's confirming the interaction based on twitter rumours, i reckon there could be a stronger link here somewhere.
