This isn’t 1990; Rodgers isn’t the one signing players.

The club identify targets and sign m players as a collective.

Rodgers is one part of that wheel.

Just to add, I have only added permanent signings. I don’t think any of the loans really worked out - maybe Lookman in parts.

I would say lookman worked as a loan. Was positive when he came on and did contribute. Consider most were happy to have him on a permanent deal says it all.

Players signed since Rodgers arrived:

Justin - good value, has impacted the team.

Perez - price is questionable, but has definitely impacted the team, I still think we look a better team when he plays.

Hirst - no impact on team, but will still be sold for profit.

Tielemans* - undoubtedly improved the team quality player *was on loan prior.

Praet - decent player, not enough of an impact on the team. Always a back up player - not quite at the level to dislodge our midfield 3.

Castagne - quality has impacted the team positively - very good signing.

Fofana - forget his personality, great player huge profit.

Daka - jury still out, would like him to get a run now - there is a player in there I’m sure.

Soumare - appeared to be a bad signing, but the more I see of him the better he looks. If he plays a full season, could be quality - jury still out though.

Bertrand - I can see why, but hasn’t worked out absolute disaster- only positive was he was free.

Vestergaard - our worst piece of business under Rodgers - panic buy when Fofana got injured - bad signing.

Financially - all of the first seasons signings were offset by selling Maguire and a couple of young lads such as Elliot Moore.

Second season were offset by the sale of Chilwell, as well as smaller fees for Gray, Silva and Diabate.

Third season 60 odd million spent - only money in was for Ghezzel and Sowah maybe £10 million for the pair?

This seasons business has recouped that £50 million.

I am sure I’ve forgotten someone, and probably someone very obvious. But over his time here we’ve just about broken even on transfer spent, and I’d say only two players have made zero impact.

Some rose timted spectacles right there.

I've said it in another thread, but the starting line up against Utd had only 5 changes from Puel's last team sheet against Palace in Feb 2019.  I'm certain there would only have been 4 changes if Ricardo wasn't injured.

In 7 transfer windows and 3-and-a-half years, despite all of the signings you've mentioned, Soumare and Justin were the only two Brendan signings in our most recent starting XI.

Accepted points.

However, the club allowed Rodgers to change our 'model', they allowed him to bring his own recruitment people in, if you believe an article written in The Athletic(?) Rodgers was told not to sign Vestergaard and Bertrand but he overruled them.

Now, the club need to take some responsibility for allowing Rodgers to change our 'model', bring his own recruitment staff in, the club and a certain person or department also need to take responsibility for the finances and what contracts have been offered, equally he was allowed to sign Vestergaard and Bertrand by whomever sanctions transfers within the club.

I do believe the club have or are trying to take back some control and somewhat restore the 'model' we had but the damage allowing Rodgers to have it his way has already been done.

Rodgers did personally recommend Perez, Bennett, Vestegaard and Bertrant…… of which all 4 have been rancid.

If Rogers changed our recruitment model that was working, he's an idiot, he's been useless at recruitment his whole career, it's like Usain Bolt turning up and expecting to win a marathon by doing such a thing.

Praet - quality player but didnt understand where he would fit in to help the first XI before, during and after he was bought. Still feel the same way now. Strange signing for me.

If they had all been a success we would be rocking all over the world but I fear it could be a case of down down, thanks to Dear John and what he was proposing
