Not sure what our finances are like but Joey Veerman's stats are fantastic, he conssotsently performs in Europe too it's not even the Eredivise tax either.

I'm imagining the 2 minute fight needed to get that past a spellchecker.

Leuven have two U21 Belgium centre backs. One I remember looked decent in pre-season…might be worth a punt.

Both are very talented IMO. Patris is equally as adept at right back too, got 6 assists already this season.

we are trying to grow leuven, the club isn’t going to bite from its arm to feed its leg.

The club, rightly so, have no intentions of making it a feeder club situation. It will be very interesting if there’s a player at a very high level there though, i’d imagine we would pay a fair market fee for anything like that… and that’s how it should be.

If the club felt it was worth it, they get him. Why sell the silver to a rival elsewhere? Messed that up with Sowah. If they really had thinking like you’ve suggested, they wouldn’t allow the biggest club in Belgium to become stronger and directly affect Leuven

Would love to see us go out and get Alex Scott from Bristol city, a Leicester of old signing.

He's looking great tonight.

Ideally we sign him in January, giving him half a season to step up for when Maddison leaves (albeit he's not at the same level, yet!) - both similar players.

Scott. Ndiaye from Blades and Willock from QPR would all easily make the step up in my opinion

Atkinson at Bristol City would do well here as well alongside Faes

Certainly not the oppinion my Bristol City mate would give lol

I trust your judgment on a lot of things but not sure i'm giving you this one!

I can definitely see us signing Scott, however I don't really see much difference in signing Scott in Jan or loaning Braybrooke out in Jan and getting him in the first team in the summer. They're similar ages!

Unless people can see room for both.

Facundo Pellistri looks like he wants out of United.
Not first team ready but as a backup RW (and we bring in a first choice), could be worth a relatively low-risk gamble.

Agree re Atkinson, started well there but hasn’t quite continued. Probably one of the better CBs in that division but it’s a shallow pool.

I think Scott is Prem ready next season, Braybrooke still a year or two off. A couple of good KDH style loans will see him right.

Oh really? I've heard nothing but rave reviews about him and when watching him he seems that unusual sort of defender who is a beast in the air, good on the ball but very low key and not one who looks to take that many risks.

I will stand to be corrected by those thst support the club, he comes out very highly on stats in the Championship.

The one defender at that level that I'm astonished is there is Ahmedhodzic at Sheffield Utd, this lad was putting in superb UCL performances in recent years.

Scott has huge talent but he's nowhere near Prem ready IMO. Stats and end product at a lower level is very very mediocre. But I'd like him here.

I think he has his excellent moments for sure, that's why Nige picked him out of lower leagues.

I do wonder if it's another case of the Rob Dickie's though, I wanted us to do anything to get him a year or so ago, now he can't get a start for QPR ahead of two loanees.

I’d pass on him now tbf, seems to be made of glass.

I’d tap back into the French market like we did with Faes.

Anthony Rouault of Toulouse is worth keeping an eye on 👍🏻

Toulouse have 3 or 4 players we ought to be all over. Lorient another team with some young superstars coming through.

Would love us to pick up Rouault, only 21

This analysis is from last season in Ligue 2 but he looks to have carried it on into Ligue 1 this season as well

Could easily pick 3-4 players from those two teams that would be interesting signings.

Enzo Le Fee should be a top priority, he’s kicked on tremendously after I mentioned him last season.

There's a feeling that the type of defender we want is not likely playing in the championship, but the type of defender we need could be.

I think Faes has shown us a few things, the club are still working off of specific key stat data to find our targets and we arent just being lazy, as many seemed to think. He was completely left field, not suggested by anyone on here, which is refreshing because theres a feeling that perhaps we havent completely forgotten what we're doing.

We may have messed up our rushed deals or even the squad options but the long term serious signings all make sense, at least on paper. The one frustration I have is that the club dont seem to look for bargains, we arent opportunists like many clubs but thats our ethos. We want who we want, we wont divert from that because Aours contract is running down or anything like that, we would only go for him if he was already our number 1 pick.

Its painful for us to see these exciting players go for reasonable fees but the club does at least have a plan. (Or at least we do when we have a budget )

Dont let the Bertrand and vestergardes taint your memory too much because these are anomaly's in the long run and I know people throw out the 'you cant blame one person for the bad signings and not credit them with the good' but these are people that were very clearly linked with brendan in the past. Both vestergarde and bennet were likely on a list and brendan has wanted to go with prem experience because of the sheer nature of rushing them into a season and you have to consider that both werent part of succession planning just gap fills, until players returned. It harms you and your rep but we havent gone daft over night.

If you are hiring a tempory worker for your business you might ignore the fact they are awful at using excel  because they have lots of sales experience, even if excel is crtical to the job. Its temporary and to you just having that sales experience will help fill your needs for now. There might be someone more well rounded but they would take time to get used to sales, and Jill is back in 6 months anyway so you dont want to spend 6 months getting someone used to sales just for her to return. Thats how I see the logic with these, (Its financially dumb to give the temp worker a long deal mind, but the pool of options significantly reduces if you arent offering that)

Lets just hope the financial worries are past us and we can get back to what we are good at.

*Oh and below is the visual image of Ryan Bennett trying to use excel

Le Fee, Chaibi, Aboukhlal, Rouault, Matsima, Outtarra, Moffi

Probably missed others too

There'll be no shortage of contracts on the table for any of them.

Betis were interested in Aouar weren't they? I'm sure they'd love him on a free. Tsygankov will no doubt end up at a top six club from one of Europe's "other" big leagues and if Kamada wants a move upwards from Frankfurt I doubt he'd be coming here, although we'd only really need him if Madders is on the way.
