Knowing how shambolic this football club is at the moment, they'd probably reject an approach.

Wolves would never pay him what we are - probably £5m a season short 

 

so we’d be relying on them paying his release clause and then we’d have to give that to him I/o severance. But looking at the current scenario, could you really imagine another club agreeing to pay his release clause to get him out of here ?  
wont happen 

 

so he would just refuse to leave until he gets his dosh from us  - I don’t see the point in waiting for another club to be interested - every week that passes makes that more unlikely anyway 

 

we either pull the trigger and pay the money or we suffer ….

He would turn them down. He'd leave us for a Super League club or a "giant" like Leeds or Aston Villa for kudos.

 

He'd see Wolves as another version of ourselves.
