You do wonder, should Wrexham fail to gain promotion this season or next, how enthusiastic their owners will still be towards the club.

Sounds like you’re super bored of all the media attention they’re getting. I’ve read a few interviews with the owners and watched the documentary series where they clearly outline their long-term plan. They really seem like they’re in it for the long haul, not just for the club but for the town and the community, regardless of how it pans out. It doesn’t feel like some publicity stunt, I think they’ve developed a genuine affection for Wrexham and football. Personally I think it’s a great story, but I’ll sign up to pretty much anything in which the IASIP geniuses are involved ;)

I don't think they're like that at all to be honest. I think it's a genuine passion project.

Would much rather see people like Rob Mac & Ryan Reynolds get involved in football for the fun and the love of sport and the community than some soulless **** like Boehly just looking to leech as much profit as he can out of the sport for his own gain.

I've got a lot of time for McElhenney even without being an IASIP fan. He's just a pretty wholesome guy.

All depends how long both FX and Disney + agree to continue their series, that I do think is paying a huge portion of this project. I think they could end up in a mess if three years down the line they are still in the national league.

It’s a town-based project, they’re ploughing into the community. Proper, decent owners.

FX and Disney aren’t paying huge sums for it. Ryan Reynolds net worth is £125m and he has various business interests.

One of the largest production companies who’ve made the series are owned by Reynolds

The big question is it about Wrexham getting back into the football league or more about Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac owning an Welsh club in the English setup.

Why? In their history they’ve played only two seasons in a Welsh only league. And that was in 1894 and 1895

I somehow doubt think Billy Sharp will every play for Wrexham. To be honest his points were valid, Wrexham did act like they already won the tie. It reminds many, many years the Nuneaton Boro had a replay against Stevenage Boro, the winner would face an away to trip to Stoke in round one. Stevenage had the nerve to advertise and promote the travel to Stoke. Even suggested fans to purchase the coach ticket in advance... what happened Nuneaton Boro won 2-1! The funny part was Stevenage had already booked eight coaches for the Stoke tie!... they still had to pay the coach company for the booking lol.

What did Wrexham do?

I know media departments can often shoot them selves in the foot but he seemed to be saying the players were gloating too .

Cannot believe they would be that unprofessional.

Where was this? Anything other than the club tweets?

Big one for me was making the old mistake of just refereeing to them as 'Sheffield'.

Dunno, the branding and media is amazing - got the whole 'nice dudes' act absolutely pinned. Whatever the football team do for the next few seasons, surely they've got enough in the tank to keep increasing their personal profiles and associated ventures? I don't know. but when you've got random people in offices genuinely thinking 'Ryan Reynolds is sooooo great you know he actually really cares about Wrexham!!!!!' there is a 3-5 year opportunity horizon
