Dunno, the branding and media is amazing - got the whole 'nice dudes' act absolutely pinned. Whatever the football team do for the next few seasons, surely they've got enough in the tank to keep increasing their personal profiles and associated ventures? I don't know. but when you've got random people in offices genuinely thinking 'Ryan Reynolds is sooooo great you know he actually really cares about Wrexham!!!!!' there is a 3-5 year opportunity horizon

Agreed, I can't see anything but sucess on and off the field for them.  I do find the criticism a bit odd given what they've done for the club and in the community.  Given we got bankrolled into sucess with owners who you could argue dont have that connection then it all seems a little hypocriticial.

This doesnt seem like a plaything to the owners like Salford was for the ex manchester players, Americans from my experience really see a club as hugely important for the local community, so no surprise they have done so much to engage with the fans.

He always seems to have a moan about everything. I can't stand him.

As much as I like it's always sunny in Philadelphia, I'm very glad to see wrexham go out. Their arrogance is becoming extremely irritating. They've become a non league Liverpool.

Give us a couple of examples of this arrogance, but I must be completely missing it lol

Well, I for one, are saddened by Wrexham exit.

The FA Cup is a fairy tale for many Clubs who enter this competition and to see them pit their wits against Spurs would have been an interesting spectacle.

It's not so much of a fairy tale when it's shoved down your throat from the moment they're bought by some rich actors. Sounds to me like a load of manufactured shite to fulfil the midlife crisis of two egomaniacs who have more money than sense.

Why should we celebrate the transition of the ownership of a club from its own fans to these people, just because they promised that they'd invest in the community? It's a race to the bottom to allow this shit into even non league clubs imo.

Well, we're all entitled to an opinion and you obviously have something against the owners of Wrexham.

Having said that you could take exception to most owners of most Clubs including our own.

On the latter paragraph, the fans of Wrexham were firmly split in how the club operated during the community owned era. They just didn’t have the capital to keep the stadium well maintained for example.

My issues with Wrexham isnt with the club, the fans or the owners but more so the media for blowing it up despite numerous non league clubs doing amazing stuff in the community and over competing on the pitch with lesser resources.

They are the ones who need to be called out for not be level headed. They need to be called out for not selecting Coalville for their cup ties but throwing themselves at Wrexham

EDIT: Just to add on this if you type in Spencer Harris Wrexham Ego on google, you'll find numerous searches of supporters calling the chairman of the fans board all sorts.

The revision view on Shaun Harvey over the Wrexham series is possibly the biggest joke.

I think if a lot of people took a step back, they would realise this is what they are annoyed with.

And for some the fact it's a welsh club.

I’ve listened to Humphrey Ker as well and I don’t think Wrexham are ignorant that other clubs function well and do a lot for their local communities. The interview I heard said they (him, Rob and Ryan) have been impressed by how teams like Boreham Wood and Wealdstone can perform in a virtual full time league

I like the Wrexham story and the club.  Any National League club making a replay in the 4th round of the FA Cup deserves attention.

Just be aware, in the States, the hype is WAY over the top.  Of late, Wrexham have received more coverage than anything else in English football besides Arsenal, Todd Boehly, and Liverpool’s fall.  This was the Athletic’s front page banner a couple nights ago …

FFS, right up there with the GOAT breaking one of the greatest records in American sports … and pushing the Super Bowl buildup into the footnotes.  Do you think this has much to do with the footy?

That said, my distaste for the hype does not extend to the owners.  It’s one thing to get the club into the EFL.  With outsized sponsorships, media attention, and a good fanbase, any bozos could attract EFL-level coaches and players.  It’s their stadium investment (a hard thing to make pay off at the L2 or L1 level) that demonstrates commitment that may well last.

I can see and hear the complaints from non football fans (and maybe some football fans) about the BBC and ITV having games on at the same time!

You might know more than me being around them more. But It always seems to me that Sheffield United is a club with a chip on its shoulder, fans, players etc.

I did hear a little today about the goings on in the tunnel after the match. Wrexham gaffer Parkinson sounds a proper plum.

Sheff United have had some honking PR in the past but thats created a siege mentality at the time in their fanbase I think.

Ive lived here 12 years and always found the Wednesday side of the divide a little easier to bond with. Still two cracking clubs mind.

Surely America is the one country where clubs are not hugely important for the local community and regularly move them around

Guess it depends on the owners.  Like i stated I can only give my opinion on American owners from my experience.
