Hit the bar, Summervillle had a good chance after Amartey stormed out, Bamford had a great chance in the second half from a cross but totally fluffed his header, Cooper had a good chance that Ward had to save at his near post and there was a header from Cooper from a corner late on that he should be hitting the target with.

They offered enough to score, but we did defend well when it mattered, especially Faes.

Not all were clear cut though. I forgot about the Summerville one that he dragged wide from (another) Amartey mistake tbf so I understand that one. The near post one I'll give you that but the header from a corner was just a standard header, not a good chance. Same with Bamford.

Comfortable win and also great to be this lot.

As for their supporters 'Marsch-ing on together' it all becomes a bit boring.

They really have nowt to shout about and as my old Dad used to say "empty tin cans make the most noise.

I still felt Soumare looked a weak link and found himself out of position a fair few times. Against better opponents we likely get punished. Still of the opinion Mendy looks far more stable in there and better on the ball, even if he does lack Soumares physicality.

Mendy last season was playing too negative but he can mop up play chases down players.  I would prefer him starting than Soumare who doesn’t seem to be good in any particular area. He ball watches and leaves gaps in the midfield that get exploited, causing more pressure on the defence. He has no awareness or urgency. Last night when Amartey came out and lost the ball, Soumare was half the distance to the player than Dan but he sprinted back into position while Soumare was still jogging.

With Faes able to start attacks from the back we can bypass Mendy and get it to Youri/Maddison further up the pitch.  Youri seems to be to close to the cbs and he usually ends up passing back, which then results in 15 side ways passes.

I would love to seen Daka and Nacho given a run of games.

Out of interest, say Top sacked Rodgers in the summer after he (hopefully) kept us up, then gave a brand new manager a warchest (say 80-100m after existing player departures) to rebuild the side, how would you feel?

Because for as risky as it sounds, that's what I think the plan is. It might not be possible to get the preffered man in now, neither financially nor because they are available.

Well we're currently on the way to pick up about 28/29 points

If we're at a point where we've backed ourselves into a corner where we have to back a manager that is dragging expectations at the club down so quickly, then the people above the manager also need to be questioned.

If this is the leadership, then Rodgers or no Rodgers. Unless they get lucky with the next pick then we'll continue to hurtle towards obscurity.

We've gone from "the expectation is to challenge for trophies and europe" to "we're hoping to pick up 40 points". Yet barely nobody seems to have noticed or give a damn. It's absurd leadership and the club are just sleep walking into nothingness.

xG isn’t a barometer to look at really. Would’ve been higher had the ball made it past Koch when he put it in his own goal.

To be fair to Koch it just glansed off him.

It was a great goal and I said it was a sublime move after the mistake, but my point is that for the few chances we created all night we relied heavily on mistakes at the back from Leeds, which concerns me going forward.

I take all of this back, I was confusing the first goal when Roca got caught in possession and thinking it was in the build-up to the second goal

I wondered why so many people seemed to be disagreeing with me!

I have stayed away from the forums for a while now due to some real knee-jerk reaction posts from many of our fan base regarding Rodgers.

Whilst I am not saying he hasnt made mistakes, he has had to deal with some key players like Wes, Kapser, Vardy, Albrighton getting on and in most cases being moved on and playing lesser roles. They cant stay at that level forever. He has also been let down by the owners. He was vocal on wanting to make points that the dead wood will be sold on and players will come in who will improve us but with no money to spend, we ended up shooting ourselves in the foot. That is the clubs fault not his.

Also we made a mistake by not cashing in on one or two who wanted out early. I know our first FA Cup Final and two 5th place finishes is amazing, but we are still Leicester City and not Man Utd. We should still sell one or two a season and trust the recruitment guys to find replacements. Already Wout Faes in and Fofana out looks like sensational business just like Maguire out and Caglar in was great at the time.

We also need to put some of frustration towards those dealing with contracts. Allowing Tielemans and Caglar to get so late in their contracts and unsettling the squad is crazy. To also have other major players with just 18 months on their deals is criminal. What are they doing back there?!

Anyway, I hope people realise we have a first class manager, things are not going great for a million reasons but its not all down to him. I cant remember the last time as a squad so many key players like Vardy, Ndidi, Caglar, JJ, Barnes were in below par form overall. It seems only Madders looks like playing at his usual level and some doing well but not excelling or improving.

Reading back the hysteria when tonights game typifies why I have stayed away from here. Some wanted Ward out but he is starting to look more secure now he gets a run in the side. I feel safer with him when crosses and corners come in compared to Kasper. Some wanted Amartey out despite the likes of wantaway Caglar and Evans was injured! The negativity towards Soumare in for the injured Ndidi (Soumare won the ball more times than Ndidi has done in a year tonight and came off on the hour), Praet playing (was involved in both goals and was the obvious replacement for Maddison). Also starting Vardy against a side he may want to do well against due to where he is from (Sheffield) and probably playing Daka next time out also made sense.

Lets cut Rodgers some slack and get behind him and the boys.

What exactly should they have done with Tielemans? Go down to the Emirates and demand Arsenal put in a bid?

A word on bums-on-seats last night: 27k?

Definitely wasn’t the 30,800 listed 😂

Season tickets are counted regardless of attendance aren’t they?

Yeah but there would’ve been no xG because it wouldn’t have been class as a ‘chance’. It would’ve been a tap in for Barnes had it reached him.

Why's it matter? It's half term in Leicestershire plus a ridiculous kick off time attendance would have been pretty much the same if we were top half of the league.

Not sure why people are thinking it's for any other reason.

It’s more knowing several chose not to adapt their lives this week to ensure attendance. If we were playing well/further up the league some of these people would, no question, have made sure they could come last night.

We haven’t had that many empty seats in a league game since the championship. (Bar covid)

Not sure i can get on board with that. The majority of the empty seats were in the family stand. It was the latest kick off time we have ever had and hopefully ever will have. The game was still going on at 10pm! I wouldn't take my kid to a game that late personally and by the looks of things a few chose not to as well.

Put that with a lot of people are on holiday too gives you your empty seats. Its not like there was 10000 empty was it. It was a couple at best.

I'll probably just jack it in.

I did last season come January.

That opinion isn't based on us struggling or 'being shit', we've been shit more than good throughout most of my time as a Leicester fan, I can deal with that, I can get behind that, what I can't deal with or get behind is being bored of my club playing in the nonsense way we do.

I'm concerned the club are doing irreparable damage to my feelings about the club though, as I said I took some time away from going to games come turn of the year last season, I got back on board in the summer thinking he'd go, he didn't, I thought well ok, he won't last many games into the season, he has.

As the summer went on I claimed we'd wrote the season off before it had even started and that seems to be closer to the truth with every day that transpires.

If that is the way Top wants to play it, fuck it, let's get relegated, let's have a relegation on his and Rodgers' stewardship.

Ahh you poor soul....

There is one way to force the change...

Tacky banners, the odd booing won't do it...but let's add for long periods...

From all around the ground...

" Boring Boring Boring Rodgers"

& an echo of

"Top is falling falling falling....ahhhh

Down,Down getting on down."

That will lighten our innere depressing ever simmering soul...!

Was 3rd choice and apart of the warm up. Has been for the majority of the season.

He is a big lad.

Welcome win, but scrappy, ugly performance for the most part and not very convincing. Still Rodgers out for me. Dreading the Man City match :nono:

I don’t agree, I thought it was comfortable in large parts, with some excellent build up play, especially for the goals. We can play better which is good, but it wasn’t ugly. Anyway I’m certainly still Rodgers out

Well we looked pretty good at times in the first half, but the second was dull and scrappy for the most part in my opinion. Faes looks like a good signing though.

Like Forest, Leeds didn’t press much and we always do better against such teams. Rare in the PL though these days.
