I know I'm in a minority and never really been in this position before, as I've never seen a manager be allowed to under perform for so long and get away with.

I love the club, still watch every game. Can name far too many members of the academy and staff. I'll be following the club and be far too invested until I lose my marbles. However I can't turn my emotions on and fake that I care about results at the minute. It's a chemical reaction and I have no control over it lol

Complete apathy is the best way I can describe. And yet I still want to watch games. My best guess is that I'm simply wanting to be proven right (although 7 losses on the bounce probably did that) We're living in some weird land of no accountability atm and i'm in footballing purgatory when it comes to Leicester lol

Luckily my main team I watch and have following for near on 15 years, Coalville, still provide me the usual ups and downs of footie and the enjoyment that comes with that.

Anyway I hope you both enjoy the game tomorrow chaps. I'll be watching in a pub in Derby, maybe that'll knock a bit of emotion into me. It's alright for me to slate my club, but I'll be damned if a Derby fan does :D

You make some good points re accountability, but I'm afraid you lost me at "Luckily my main team"...

This also backs up hpf comments re your opinion over anything else. I was as vehement as you that he had to go, when results were shit. I doubt I'll ever warm to him  , but seriously, just enjoy it while it's going well. Don't have to have a brendan tattoo. Can happily jump back on him when it (inevitably?) turns to shit again. But I am happy to hope to just enjoy it while it lasts and even, heaven forbid, hope that it could actually have more to do with lack of signings etc. than I would like to believe (I get all the arguments, I genuinely believe them, but maybe, just maybe..  🤞)

Unfortunately for you (certainly for me, and others commenting), it feels like you are now monopolising threads to repeat your views ad infinitum. It gets boring. And unlike hpf who believes you care more than he does, I personally feel that 1 team is all you should be able to have. (Not as an arbitrary rule, but as there are not enough hours in the day to be consumed by more than one team)

Yes, you can pay an interest in other teams (usually local non league etc) but generally their performance is just of interest, rather than the be all and end all. Your main team is what matters, and for you it clearly reads Coalville are your main team, with lcfc fulfilling other personal needs(?), ie an active forum to discuss in more detail, which seems like it could read as your need for recognition, in this case that you knew before everyone else and will not be swayed, but I guess it's easier to stick to your course of action, if you don't really give a shit. I for one still do!

Big time.

(But @HighPeakFox I have also learned to distance myself {since our previous deep chats in general forum} from the longer term, caring too much/too much impact on daily life, same journey, just pleased I managed to achieve this without having to back away from the city)

I still have nightmares of ederson wiping out barnsey mid air. How on earth that wasn’t dangerous play and a red card sending off I don’t know. The guy is like a bull in a China shop.

maybe our boys will raise their game a level higher to match the high caliber opposition.

Without Halaand we may get away with a narrow loss or even a draw. With Halaand, Man City will wipe the floor with us.

Maybe triple-captaining him is the reverse psychology we needed 😁

Because there's one rule for the Top 6 and another rule for the rest.

He also took out Kelechi without any penalty

Really hope we show them the way to play football.

I have my doubts with Pep being Rodgers idol and them being peas in a pod in the way they see how the game should be played, but Rodgers does seem to be being abit more pragmatic in recent weeks and he has done it against Man City in the past, we've seen it before under Rodgers when he's been under pressure playing a pragmatic way only for him to revert back to his way, his philosophy and the way thinks football should be played - it's coming.

Fucking hate Man City and what they've done to the game creating possession obsession, creating cliches of the way the game should be played being rammed down our throats and 95% of teams trying to mimic it only for it to be godawful, it's effective for Man City (There's a lot more to do with it than the style, maybe the oil money, maybe buying up any player that poses a danger, threat or competition to them only to put them on the bench and waste their career...) the sooner other clubs realise its detrimental and ineffective to themselves, opposed to ultimately playing to their own strengths rather than following a style, the better - This is on other clubs as much as what Man City have caused, as I say, it's effective for them.

If we play 3 at the back with a heavy dose of keep possession at all costs to "control the game"  BendanBall, we unfortunately could receive a bit of a slapping from them.

Send them out and get the lads to 'pretend' its Wolves again, and actually press quickly, and counter attack with a good mixture of direct over the top balls chucked in for variety,  then we may get some joy (as well as entertainment) out of the afternoon.

I know which set up I want, but fear that 'Mr Teeth' will revert to default Plan 'A' of possession, as that's all he really wants us to play.

Our wins came against three sh1t teams who didn't offer too much pressure, or sustained attacking intent, so if we sit deep, park the bus and adopt Rodgers "death by football" mantra, our defence, however much it looks like its improved, well not cope, along with our midfield. Man City are too good.

Today is about showing speed, intent and wanting to get in their final 3rd as quickly and as often as possible and adopt the old saying of attack is the best form of defence.

Plus, IMO we play better this way anyway.

Haven’t we generally got results  by playing deep and breaking on them ?  If we make it a ‘game of basketball’ then surely we lose ??

The last couple home games we’ve sat back and challenged them to break us down and been done 1-0 ?

the last two away games have been much more open and turned into goal fests

id expect us to be pragmatic, given our position.

We've lost 11 of our last 14 against Man City. I personally wouldn't say we have got many results against them
