So you’d rather people fork out around £100 for a membership and a ticket for a one off match because of a couple of people being idiots?

Yeah because that’s the way everyone else has to buy tickets, and also how the football club makes money. A membership isn’t expensive and it is worth it.

Giving money to people on here to by tickets goes in their back pocket, and you’ve got to play by the rules. Using the resale scheme is effective and easy.

I haven’t any sympathy, and if people continue to buy tickets through the improper means they should enjoy your ban and go support Burton Albion.

In your opinion.

I mean paying £32 (more if you have kids) to be in with a chance of buying tickets is borderline gambling and in my opinion it's a scam.

The club clearly are miffed that people are finding their way around the scam. Someone very high up must be invested in Fox Memberships, like it's their own flagship idea they need to do well.

Recon @Magdaworks at the ticket office and it was their idea to set up the resale platform?

Its done wonders to publicise that process, that’s me never selling a ticket on here.

The selling of tickets on here works fine the vast majority of the time, hence the 30 pages on the Ticket Exchange Positive Feedback thread. A couple of bad eggs doesn't change that.

Not everyone wants to fork out for a membership for an 'opportunity' to buy tickets, and often sellers only realise they can't make it at the last minute, so it works for all parties.

It's hard to put a number on how many matches a STH should be able to sell on the resale platform. You shouldn't be selling more than half of the games back, there are people waiting for ST's who are forking our a lot of money on memberships and matchday tickets. Maybe 5 is more reasonable than 3. I missed 2 home games in October as I was away for half term but I am trying to ensure I don't miss any other home games now (not always easy with family commitments etc.).

Some people travel a long way and fixture rescheduling to Mondays or midweek might not be ideal.

I would feel uncomfortable selling to a complete stranger on here unless they were a regular poster and had some reviews from other people. Even if you give a ticket to a friend or someone you trust, if they let you down then at the end of today, your name is on that ticket and you are responsible. So it is always a risk and can't blame the club for reacting. Maybe they should be more lenient and listen on a case by case basis if possible.

There is a resale platform, it’s in the ‘my account’ section online

I am aware. But I would challenge how well documented it has been, because I think it’s evident that both the OP and other supporters do not know.

As someone has already stated, you'll be lucky if you get your season ticket after 2 years. In selling it as you did the club according to the stated terms have terminated your contract for your ticket.

One would assume that you would have to re apply to be a season ticket holder and as such name your will go to the bottom of the list!

Good luck with that.

Scaremongering at its best. These are all unsubstantiated claims.

I have used the club re-sale scheme 3 or 4 times in the last couple of years.  It is really easy, and my ticket has always sold.  They were not the major games either - I would always make sure I go to those.

Me and the people I salit near have a WhatsApp group and offer them to each other if we can’t make it. Works very nicely and nobody asks for any money

Yeah but that would mean i'd have to speak to people near me.

Putting things like this on here is just helping the club justify digital only tickets from next season.

Fair point. Removed so maybe you can do the same?

I’ve no doubt the ticket office use accounts to catch people out. I reckon they use friends and family social media ones as well.

Ironic considering some in their are the biggest sellers and stealers of tickets lol

Say a couple want to take their two U16 kids to a one-off league match for a treat, or to see if they like it enough to go more regularly.  A bog standard Cat B match in the Kop is going to set them back £222 (£126 for tickets and £96 for memberships).  I think that's out of order.

They could’ve gone to yesterdays game for about £30 total lol. Ticketing is sometimes ridiculous at lcfc but my god the victim complex reading some of these posts

What's sad about this generally is that a season ticket holder can't ordinarily just give away or sell their ticket at up to face value to whoever they like if they're unable to make a game, which could be for any number of reasons.

It's only a natural thing to want to have your family or mates benefit from your status as a STH.

This kind of thing should be made possible, while also protecting against touts. For example, you could nominate a specific supporter number and the recipient could have their own ticket issued by the club while invalidating the STH's ticket for that game only. Should be quite simple in today's day and age (although I wouldn't know exactly how to sort that lol). Then if your mate whacks the ticket on a reselling site, it's them that's getting the ban.

100% I bet they do.

People selling ST seats would be a goldmine for them. Means they can sell the seat for £50+ a pop instead of whatever it is on average.

Easily make their money back.

There is a season ticket resale platform on lcfc.com, they sound out an email to let you know when it's open

That isn't actually quite correct.

I used the official resale scheme for the Palace game and I could see there were still quite a lot of seats dotted around, but mine still sold. The advantage with mine were that they are two together which is probably more sought after.

Only used it the once but would use again. I think five times a season would be a sensible limit.

As other have mentioned the club can make a decent profit. My lad (U22) resold his for the Man City match, he got £17.20 refund, the chap in his seat paid £47.50.

I remember getting a ticket off someone for a couple of games once, went to post it back but they had messaged me asking if I wanted it for another game. Turned up and the ST didn't work. Not bothered anyway, atmosphere is well shit but what a weirdo

Agreed, you've signed up and paid for a season ticket then start crying when you don't want to use your season ticket and expect some money back for it from the people who sold you your season ticket lol. Imagine going to my train provider and saying 'i have an annual pass but i didnt use it on wednesday 26th october so i want £7.38 back!! its my right!!' In fact I got fined £238 last year for sharing my annual pass with my wife when the rail provider found out!! Anyway i'll leave railway ranting to another thread
